Has anyone done a full Alcantara scrub / clean?
Ozone treatment? Trying to get a mildewy/ moldy smell out.

not from the cabin air filters (checked). Can’t tell what the source is. Seems like it’s mainly from Alcantara headliner.

 

I heard several times that ozon treatment was the most efficient solution against bad smell

 

Any tips on cleaning the Alcantara Steering wheel?

 

I use colourlock alcantara cleaner with very good results

I try to do it once a year, right before the winter usually

 

Does that have a good scent as well?

 

You may think I'm insane but... dry ice blasting. With the right particle size and the right velocity/settings and a tech who knows what he/she is doing, it makes Alcantara look absolutely new. If there are then little *****/pills (which are not the result of the dry ice, they are from abrasion, wear and use).... you need to deal with those with a sweater pill shaver or similar.... but the color/dirt/cleaning - dry ice cleaning all the way.

What is so cool about this method of cleaning... they can do the underside of the car, metal etc, rubber, plastics, labels, and interior parts (very soft settings). Settings change for each material.

A steamer would be better but there are some videos on how to clean it correctly

I had a terrible smell coming from my vents and the AC deodorant spray made it worse (smelled like cheap soap). I eventually tried ozone and it took every smell away. Like factory new.

I also used the Sonax cleaner and brush for my steering wheel on my E63. Awesome product.

 

Awesome. I’ve got heavy mildew / mold smell. Gotta find a solution (and the root cause). My vents smell fine. But hopefully can find a fix. Can’t sit in the car without a headache.
