I hop into my Dodge Omni GLHT when I want a reality check. Original interior / original paint 10 second beast in the 1/4 mile on slicks. Launching it with the 2 step is wild.

If you do need a reset of exspectations I can loan you my daughters K car! It is very interesting to jump from the most boring car to a GT3!

I have an M2 CS 6MT and a 992 GT3 PDK And they are both fun in their own ways. When I jump in the M2 I feel it’s the keeper. Then I jump in the GT3 and I feel it’s a keeper. They are both fun in very different ways. I have to say the m2 is a near perfect street car through. I also think each transmission choice is very good match for each engine. The CS feels special. And the GT3 is razor sharp on all fronts. But for street driving I would lean toward the M2 CS. I definitely drive that more. But that also keeps the GT3 feeling special.

The idea of these cars if often more exciting than the actual experience or practicality. I started with a M2C several years ago and went to the top of the mountain with porsche in every generation from the 997 in a relatively short time period. From a value perspective for street car driving- none of these are worth the premium to a M2C/CS and the excitement of a new experience will fade relatively quickly. At least this is my perspective from having been ruined by factory race cars and wheel to wheel racing.

I think the M2C was actually, on the whole, more fun than the Turbo S on the street. The throttle tip in is so aggressive, it's hilarious. It just begs to be thrown around.

I enjoy driving my 993 and GT3 more than I did the M2C and I would back to back all three. The seating position in the M2C is very high and the controls don't have the same sharpness and modulation as those cars.

Of course we're talking about a $60k car here - the very fact that it compares favorably is incredible. The M2C is the best value sports car I've ever owned/driven.

ppreciate all the helpful perspectives shared on here

from my end the latest add to the mix is the prospect that the 992.2 GTS might be a naturally aspirated mild hybrid with a manual, while it would be no GT3, I think I would be quite happy with that car, it would scratch the 911 itch for me and I have a particular affinity for immediate low end torque which I would expect it would offer in droves (without turbo lag)

so deferring things until more info comes out

FYI, the 992GTS has a twin turbocharged 3L motor. Definitely not naturally aspirated, which is why it offers the low end torque you yearn for.

appreciate the thought behind your post, but I was referring to the 992.2 not the 992.1, the 992.2 is rumoured to have an NA mild hybrid powertrain
