GT3RS.2 or 992 GT3
Real world problems! Debating on a 3rs with only 3k miles vs 992 GT3 with about the same. Equipment is pretty much offsetting other that ppf on the RS. Plan on tracking either car, and some regular driving. Tracks are an hour and up to 2.5 away as well, so driving to both until I spring for a trailer. Naturally the 992 is much much more over MSRP. Leaning 991.2 just for the looks, front of the 992 hasn’t grown on me yet. Any thoughts on drivability between the two? Both lwbs also. As for track driving, I’m probably not adept enough to tell difference unless it’s glaring. Coming out of a .2 GTS for reference.

991.2 GT3RS is the way to go ( IMO ).

The front steering feel of the 992 is unbeatable but for me the car feels big.
RS all the way.
RS all the way.

The 3RS has more drama, more sound, more theater. In my limited hands, both cars are about the same speed on track. The 992 suspension is just that much better. It’s a pinch more civilized and street friendly, and the interior is a big upgrade. The 992 is easier to drive, imho. If I was going to take trips in it, 992 hands down. If it was just a track toy, 3RS. For a bit of both, you really can’t go wrong. Whatever flavor you prefer.

The 992 is more modern and engine has a nicer timber (ITB's and lighter flywheel). Stewarding one of each currently and I would say go with 992 unless you can have both. The 991.2 RS is awesome but newer is always better in GT3 world; angrier engine sounds and RS subjective feel are great but so many improvements in the 992, including sharper feeling front end, makes you appreciate the 991.2 in retrospect as different but foregoing 992 means you are not enjoying latest and greatest improvements in driving dynamics.

I had a slot to build a 992 GT3... built it out and everything. Watched it go through the 6 stages, but I ended up walking back and getting a .2 3RS. It was the correct choice looking back on it

I found it a little twitchy and not confidence inspiring at my skill level. My 991.2 GT3 felt much more stable and I was as fast in it as the RS...
Two friends who are 10/10th drivers with racing licences loved the 991.2 3RS! You need to get all that aero working to stabilize the car....
Last summer I tracked a 992 GT3 extensively for two days at a Porsche event.
The 992 is totally confidence inspiring, the front "turn in" is amazing, removing the occasional "pogo stick" feeling with the old strut suspension.
Unless you are a "real racer" I would go with the 992 GT3!!
YMMV,
Cheers!

There are kits out there to dial out the 991.2 bump steer on turn in. I suspect will never be as good as 992's wishbone set up, but if it is in the balance, or you prefer 991s looks or interior, may swing it

I'm in the UK, so:

I am sure Dundon & others will offer similar adjustable tie rods/kits in the US.
