Default 991.2 GT3 RS at Laguna Seca - 1:29.12

Finally had a chance to do a lap on the Michelin Cup 2 R at Laguna Seca post-repave. It's not a particularly clean lap, but it was the first flying lap of the day for maximum benefit from this ultra-fast tire. Data indicates a 1:28.x lap is in the cards with better execution.

Serge944,

What mods have been done to the car other than cup2r? I see different wheel in the pic and presume geo pretty aggressive, too?

I would classify the car as "stock." The modifications include AP brakes (for easy pad change), BBS FI-R wheels (extra set), an alignment (for better tire wear), TC Design roll bar and Schroth harness.

To be quite honest, these cars are quite effective straight from the factory. Pick it up, put on the break-in miles, and drive straight to the track.

What do you think of the new paved surface? Better? Grippier?

New pavement is faster, for sure. And the added runoff allows you to attack T5 and T9 with a bit more aggression since the consequence of going wide is pretty minor.
