Default 991.2 GT3RS with Weissach - Rear Clunking Sound

Anyone else ever experience a metal clunking sound coming from the rear when going over a bump on the road? It sounds like it’s suspension related as normal uneven roads doesn’t cause it. At first I thought maybe it was my harness sub buckle clanging around on the buckets, but I removed them and it’s still there. I’m thinking it might be the Coilover Springs rubbing against each other? Or Sway Bar need retorque?

Sometimes you'll get a "twang" from the helper springs binding on the main coil. Totally normal.

I could also be the rear brake pads especially if aftermarket

I had a similar clunking sound at lower speed on bumpy roads and then noticed that if slightly pressing the brake pedal there would be no clunk anymore

On a weissach also have a look at the carbon sway bar links on my older car one broke ( no noise )

I've heard it on highway speed as well so not limited to lower speed bumpy roads.

Check your swaybar bolts. If you're hearing it regularly, very likely they've come loose or weren't torqued down enough.

I had a friend ride along with me and he said the sound is tubular metal and most likely the sway bar. I'll look into torque the sway bar bolts. Thanks for that suggestion

Just bought my car and I am having the same clunk noise coming from the rear. Thought something must be wrong with the suspension and let the dealer check, they said everything was fine.

Now I am asking BBI because the car comes with their roll cage.

It is a clunk noise whenever I go over a bump or uneven surface, doesn't matter about the speed.

I've been told it could be a Transmission mount. One friend had this happen.

Mine makes that sound sometimes.

Apparently, the previous owner heard it also, and had the dealer check it. They didn’t find any issues with the car, and attributed it to the harnesses, which I don’t think is correct.
