How many if you regret buying a winged GT3 and wish you had purchased a touring?
Been on the fence of buying a 991.2 GT3. Options on the preowned market are considerably greater for a winged GT3. Finding tourings (obviously less produced) and rare and difficult to find. Love both cars, but wondering how many of you have buyers remorse and wish you purchased a touring?

I’m in the same boat you are. But for different reasons maybe. I actually like the wing but I also like flying under the radar. I already don’t drive some of my cars to work because they are a little over the top. The wing on a GT3 pushes a 911 a little more in that direction.
I’m still leaning in the direction of a winged car. But I wonder if I end up with one, that I’ll wish I had bought a Touring for the low key vibe it gives off. No one out side a Porsche fanatic would ever know it’s not just another 911.
What I really want is a winged 991.2 manual, sofas, in PTS with as many lux options possible (Bose, heated seats, etc).
Wing, what wing? Just kidding (sort of). I think the 991.2 GT3 looks great with the wing or without. I opted for the Touring because that is more to my taste but that is all it comes down to, what is best for my taste. If I had not gotten a 991.2 PTS Touring allocation, I would have likely gotten a winged car in Signal Yellow with PDK. Shoulda, coulda, woulda. It all worked out quite perfectly, as I have driven my GT3 (daily driver) nearly 24,000 miles in 4 years of ownership.
It comes down to personal preference. There was a time when I would have preferred a winged car. I had several with wings including a couple of RS’s. My tastes changed and ended up buying a Touring. There is nothing wrong with either. I also prefer the leather interior of the Touring. I like the stealth aspect. If you know you know. I know what my car really is and that’s all that counts. It being built in smaller numbers is an additional plus for me.
You really can go either way and I just went through this decision making process. I ended up with a wing’d 991.2 because I found the right car and couldn’t justify spending $30k+ more for a touring just because of the wing. There have been some really good reply’s here that match my sentiment.
I agree that the wing adds an element of flash, but this is a GT3, a car that at birth had a wing.
i too don’t drive my GT3 to work because our employees would think I’m over the top. Would a touring change that? Not sure but probably not. This is a highly personal scenario.
My friend came over with his new 992 touring and I agree wingless somehow works a bit better, but the 992 wing looks stupid, sorry, The 991 wing is just right for the car.
Once the right car at the right price come in front of you, you’ll know it at that moment. Go with it.
