I just bought a 991.2, and I noticed (previous owner didn’t) that the “3” is not positioned correctly. Upon reflection, seller thinks it might have been knocked off during a paint correction and ceramic process 2 years ago, and improperly replaced (a botched cover up I say!).
I simply want to readjust the 3 to match factory appearance. I’m willing to bring this to a body shop but I’m a weekend wrencher and perhaps it might not require professional hands.
3m auto exterior double sided tape comes to mind. There is maybe a template somewhere in the workshop manual. If your "GT" are still aligned, then probably easier to align the "3".
Sturdy floss (and heat gun) to remove the ‘3’, clean adhesive, reapply new 2-sided tape, reattach? You will need to cut the tape to the contour of the ‘3’. Some folks (and the factory) have jigs for the correct placement of the letters.

Any thoughts on how to detach and reattach?
Thanks
1. Find another GT3 owner nearby
2. Use parchment or wax paper to trace the GT3
3. Use an Exacto knife (against a cutting board) to cutout "GT3" profile off the paper.
4. Now you have a template
5. Buy 3M Heavy Duty double stick tape. Homedepot has it.
6. Remove the "3" and clean the backside
7. Clean the bumper with alcohol
8. Tape the wax paper template over the "GT"
9. Apply 3M tape to the backside of the "3"
10. Place the "3" in the cutout and press firmly
11. Step back and admire.
I've replaced the GT3 on my car once. I think 3M double sided may be too thick and not look right. Go buy a new GT3 letter set from dealer or suncoast, place blue tape top & bottom of your existing marking position of the G & T. Mark the "3" on the blue tape using the 3 on the replacement set as a guide. Pull the existing GT3 off using heat gun / floss as mentioned above and place the new set on the car.
I personally would probably buy a new emblem to ensure that the adhesive is perfect. If you use a black light (maybe even a flashlight), you should be able to see the "ghosting" of the original emblem location to get it spot on.
go with a new set, something like a hundred bucks. just make sure to create a template of sorts so you know how to reapply it and then while its off, give it a quick buff to get rid of the residue from the old emblem, otherwise you'll see the old emblem hologram etched in the clear.
