PDK Oil flush?
im wanting to do an oil flush and looking for some basic info
Has anyone done recently at the dealer what did they charge?
It sounds like theres 3 different fluids for the gearbox and clutch is that right?
Has anyone done this at indy shop the local one to me recommended an aftermarket oil pan different than what the dealer uses.

I have not done it yet but my understanding is the gearbox has fluid, the differential has a different fluid, and the PDK pump has another fluid and this is the part the new pan is for.
If someone knows better that would be great info

I took mine to an independent as it needed some work done. At that time they did the diff and trans. There was a leak somewhere .. can't remember. The clutch pan was also leaking so I decided that that was an easy enough task and not worth the $1,100 or so. I ordered the factory replacement pan from FCP Euro along with the PDK clutch fluid and did it myself. From my YouTubing, it seems clear to me . and hopefully not incorrectly, that the PDK Fluid didnt need the computer flushing process. That is only needed when the internals and such are removed. I seem to remember that within the internals of the PDK there is existing fluid reservoirs so there is fluid that remains. With that, I put her up on the Quickjack and proceeded to drain and remove the pan. I purchased a $12.00 battery operated transfer pump from Harbor Freight and filled it up until it was leaking and quickly closed it up. So far no issues but I when I do the plugs in the next week or so, I will check again.

I did it myself on my 2015. Pretty easy job. Make sure you have a device that can cycle the gearbox and measure the trans temp after the initial refill so that you get the refill level correct.

Seems low. Make sure they replace the PDK filter. The filter is built into the PDK oil pan. The OE list price for this part itself at most dealers is almost 500.

I could be wrong but I don't think there's a factory PDK service interval for tracking a street car. The closet interval I can find for track use is from GT4Clubsport PDK (see below). Most teams service more frequently than 10,000 Km(6,200 miles) to help maintain a healthy gearbox. At our shop we service every 15 track days(approx 30 hours of track time) for our street car track customers. Using this 15 track day interval the filter/pan is replaced every other service. The shifting almost always feels better after a service.
PS- In my opinion, a service is not the same as a flush. Service is replacing the standard amount of fluids by the book. Flush is performing the service a number of times using additional amount of fluids until there's no sign of dilution from remaining old fluids. We have done complete flushes before only in rare situations.

Tom, how important is replacing the pan? I understand it does have a "filter". Way ahead on recommended service interval for PDK. 16K miles on the odometer.

If its never been replaced I would suggest replacing it. Replacing the pan/filter guarantees removal of any debris trapped in the filter from the internal parts initial break-in period. The car manufacturer states that the only way to service is with a new pan/filter. We replace the pan/filter every other service only if we have service history of the car using our more frequent service interval.

FYI, it's not a flush but a drain and refill. Only about 60% of the fluid is replaced unless you do it multiple times as Tom@TPC notes.
I was just posting on this in another forum, please don't let yourself get reamed by the dealer. Pans are $490 when paying the Porsche tax despite an OEM replacement being mid-200's, but whatever. It's about an hour of work so that's $250 assuming inflated dealer labor rates. PDK clutch fluid is $36/liter (Porsche tax MSRP) and four liters are needed for a PDK drain/fill.
Pan: $490
fluid: $144
Labor: $250
Total: $884
Tax: $87
Grand total: $972
So that's just under a grand assuming Porsche part MSRPs and $250 labor rates. Even if we say it takes two hours (it doesn't as I've DIY'd it) then it's still only $1222. Anything higher than that is just flat out stealing from you.
It's obviously a lot cheaper at an Indy or DIY as the parts are available for much cheaper that what the dealership will stick you with (as shown below).

There are cheaper pans out there and I used one that claimed to be OEM and it looks just like the removed pan. Can't remember where I bought it but if you don't want to risk it the discount price on a genuine Porsche pan is $350.
I have a PIWIS2 clone that I used for the fill but you don't need one. See this post below on how to fill without a PIWIS. I used this method and then double-checked it with my PIWIS and the level was exactly the same.
