Default Anyone know what might be going on with my GT3?

991.1 GT3, just passed 34k miles. G6 motor has about 12k miles on it. I just got a new PDK put in the car.

note: this occurred during regular street driving. This car has not seen the track in over a year.

I can’t really notice a significant change in the way the car drives since I noticed the noise. Maybe the car feels kinda slower & sluggish than normal? Not really sure. However, I did notice the car’s oil pressure is unusually low at idle (~12-15psi) and then shoots up to mid 40s when you accelerate. Up to 9k, oil pressure is (70+ psi)

Car has full akrapovic exhaust system

here’s some videos I recorded to try and capture the noises.

Sounds like a loose bracket or mounting point. Bet under the car and try to locate it. Move a microphone around the rough area where is coming from to try to pin point it. How did this occur?
PS: it is disturbing to hear both engine and pdk were replaced. What were the simptoms for the pdk?

hopefully it’s that, but I couldn’t really see it. Were you able to see the 2nd video? The noise kinda dies down in sync with the engine coming down to lower RPMs.

RE: PDK, we first noticed a leak, replaced fluids, leak continued but not as excessively. Eventually, started experiencing shift flares, and evidently the transmission blew shortly after. The flywheel also went out which is what we believe to be the root cause. BR Racing will be doing a write up on this since it’s never been seen before, according to them.

BR Racing is a very good shop but they maynot have seen the PDK issue since most of them have been delt with under warrenty. Both of my GT3's had leaks, dealer tried several times on each to repair with no luck, both were replaced. One of the replacements was also defective and was replaced. Many others have failed even a 19 RS. I hope BR is able to repair it since the dealers just try a few seals which do not seam to work then replace the unit. Good luck and keep us updated with results.

Would anyone be able to chime in on what a PDK leak looks like? I’ve seen this mentioned a few times but not sure what to watch out for. Where underneath the car would you typically notice it and what does it look like?

There should be no leaks. Both of my cars looked like it was coming out of the bellhousing, both PDK's seemed to be working fine when it started.

I had a similar chirping sound on my previous 996GT3. We traced the sound to a loose spark plug.
