My dealer possibly has 2023 992 GT3T allocation ....will know soon...
He asked if I would consider doing a "swap" with my current 2018 GT3 Touring for the 992 GT3T ....
I have a 992 Carrera T order now with expected delivery May 30.....PDK for daily driving...
I really enjoy my 991 GT3 Touring.....I am thinking that I should keep my 991 GT3T just because it is different than the 992 and probably rarer and more valuable that the 992 GT3...

Keep the 991 Touring. It may end up being more "collectable" in the future. Plus I have noticed a lot of 991 guys try the 992 but come back to the 991. That says something to me. If I had a .2 Touring I would be keeping it long term. For now I'm happy with my "regular" GT3 PDK and a manual Carrera T. Tough decision! Good luck!

Keep both if you can and drive both for awhile. Give it a few months for the honeymoon period to end.

If you can't decide keep both. If one is gathering dust or doesn't make you do a double take....then that one goes.

There does seem to be a number of 992 guys who end up preferring the 991, but that may be confirmation bias talking. By all rights, the 992 GT3 is an awesome driving car.

For me - it's the looks. The 991 GT3T is the best looking 911 ever made and that's what keeps me from thinking too much about the 992, which is not as pretty. It's not like the 991 GT3T doesn't already drive incredibly well, so give me the pretty one.

I am loosely on my dealer's waitlist for a 992 GT3 (I am not willing to pay ADM but have a good relationship so they'll eventually get me one) but I'm not 100% sure what I would do. I'd like to have both but really don't have the garage space... And there is a lot that I like about the 991.2. Probably the strongest argument for me for the 992 (over the 991) is that I could spec it to my taste unlike my 991 which is a nice spec but I bought it second hand and it is not exactly what I would pick. But on the other hand, I just find the 991 touring to be better looking than the 992 touring...

I owned a 992 touring & sold it. Purchased a PTS 991.2 touring. Now I’m actually working on acquiring a MY23 touring as I just can’t see this 991.2 touring being the long term answer for me personally. Nothing like building a car from new to your own taste & I regretted selling the 992 almost instantly.

That said, if I could go back in time to spec my own 991.2 touring. I wouldn’t be in this position. Live & learn as they say.

Not to mention the price hikes we are seeing. Good god. I’ll be priced out forever getting a GT3 in my own spec again if I wait for the 992.2.

I was fortunate in that I was able to build and order my 991.2 GT3T….and that in itself makes it a special Porsche

It’s totally a personal preference. I have a ‘19 Touring and also had a 992 Touring that I specced. I kept the ‘19 after I got the ‘22. After several months of driving the new one I decided to keep the 991.There were a lot of reasons why I preferred the the 991. I’m so glad I didn’t sell the 991 when my new car came in. Value had absolutely nothing to do with my decision. I’m sure there are others that would have made the opposite choice. That’s why I said it’s a personal preference that only you can make. I got one of the first 991.1GT3, 991.1rs, 991.2gt3 991.2RS... ok....
I then got 992... 13 months 13k miles.... yes I love it.

That's sort of like being surprised some people have a different taste in music though isn't it? It depends what you like. The 992 is different enough in some key areas that it might rub some the wrong way. The interior is much more modern but not everyone wants that (remember the whole 997 vs 991 a decade ago) plus you effectively get the same engine and gearbox as the "old" one anyway so that's not a deciding factor.

I'd take 992 on track and 991.2 on the road, but I can't have both and since they scored about equal points on my personal score card the cheaper of the two was the obvious choice.

Not sure about US numbers, but there are probably less then 50 right hand drive Tourings in the UK, so they are generally go up for sale for well north of £200K (some are £240K).

Given the small number compared to 992gt3T, investment wise, it's a no brainer.

It come down to how they drive and where you drive them, road or track (presume the 992 chassis is superior here?), plus the looks. I like both, but err towards the 991 shape.

How many 991gt3T got to the USA compared to the numbers for the 992?

NB I see another thread stating over 700 US 991 gt3Ts were imported

992 GT3 production is not entirely clear to me, but from what I'm reading it sounds like Porsche will end up making about as many 992GT3T as they did 991.2. That's probably good for 991.2 GT3T collectibility if the model remains exclusive across generations.

If you tend to push your cars hard, you may really appreciate the new front suspension- it’s a big improvement. But if you drive entirely on the road and don’t approach the limit, it may be a non-issue.

I love my PTS 991 Touring. That being said, you may want to ask your question in the 992 section and see how the responses differ.

I wonder about the handling/grip balance for the 992 GT3 Touring. I notice the lack of rear downforce on my 991.2 GT3T in high speed braking and high speed turns on track where the rear end is definitely livelier than a winged GT3 and needs to be managed well. Of course, I also get some slight turn in understeer, which would be nice to dial out but honestly, it's also not hard to manage with light trail braking or a bit of throttle lift to get the car to rotate.

With the 992 GT3 having significantly more front end grip but less relative improvement on the rear end, it may be a bit more of a handful on track in high speed situations (Touring only again, I'm sure the winged car is very balanced).

Would like to hear from 992 GT3T if they have track experience...
