Default Is it normal for the PDK to be clunky at slow speeds?

I recently picked up a 991.2 GT3 RS and my prior experience with Porsche GT cars before this one is pretty limited. I notice that the the PDK is quite clunky at low speeds, including upshifting from 1st to 2nd. Just wanted a sanity check to confirm that this is normal. My previous cars were a 2nd gen Audi R8 and e92 M3 (both dual clutch) and they were not nearly as clunky at low speeds.

The short answer is that they may be for this car. If the car has been recently tracking, the PDK will remember the shift sequence, which is not great for around town driving. If you would like a more pleasant shifting experience, you can reset the PDK. Following is the PDK Porsche Official Reset Guidance:
  1. Turn on the engine, turn off A/C (and any other consumer like PCM, etc.) and let the engine run for 3 minutes.
  2. Turn on A/C and wait another 3 minutes.
  3. Turn off engine, remove the key, close the car and wait one minute.
  4. Restart car and PDK is now reset to factory default.

Thanks I'll try that! What a bizarre process for resetting the PDK....

Well, at least it is possible without an expensive diagnostic tool.

And touch your nose and turn around clockwise 3 times.

Porsche punishes RS owners with clunky PDK if they don’t live at the track or Ring.

Cold start before the engine is fully warmed up, yes.

You forgot the part where you have to turn 3 times in a circle counter clockwise while patting your head, and saying the alphabet backwards.

This is a telltale sign that it's on the last legs, best to get rid of the POS for a Turbo S instead.

You may be experiencing "low end torque" drivability, as the GT cars need the higher rpms to smooth out a bit, versus the higher torque turbo charged cars that require less RPMs to get going....probably all normal...
