Default RS Wing removal - winglet

All
I’m working with a premier Porsche shop to build “winglets” for folks who want to remove their wing temporarily or permanently. Most likely made of carbon fiber but perhaps other materials. Swapping back and forth should take just a few minutes so long as you have someone to support the wing.
I’ll post more info when I have it.

just posting to see if there’s interest

I'd be interested in end caps for when the wing is removed. Not CF, just black plastic to match the finish on the plastic above the rear deck lid and other plastic trim. With holes so I can just bolt it in place. I think you could sell a few made of CF, but you'll sell X times more if priced under $200 and made of plastic.

I'd be interested in a wingless option, but not CF: would probably need to match the paint colors though.

+1 | OEM color matched body painted colors, let’s start with White.

Thanks for the feedback. I'll pass it along. I want a set and basically told them i could probably move 9 since making 10 or more makes more sense than just 1. They have previously made some out of full CF. I'll add details as i have them.

Sounds like a cool mod. Be careful with the loosening and torquing of the bolts. I have read others ran into issues when attempting to remove the wing.

I seem to recall a company was previously selling these and suddenly stopped, presumably under duress from Porsche for "safety" reasons

I believe I still have a set from my 1.1. I had them on for all of 5 minutes. It didn’t look right to me. I’ll check the garage tomorrow to see if I still have them, if so they’re free to whoever wants em.

good pic. I’ll take them if you’re offering and will pay shipping.

the ones I’m looking to have built extend and blend the rear deck lid.

Surprised a Porsche dealer is working with you on this, Porsche issued a warning on doing so last year and informed owners to reinstall the wings via dealers if they need help.

I think what happens is we get older, stop driving on the track, and want better visibility out of the rear window for maneuvering in traffic as a daily driver, but want to keep the 4.0 NA engine, and responsive suspension and steering. I probably won't ever take my RS over 90 mph, so a wing delete won't affect handling, but if things change, I would re-install the wing for balance, etc.

Buy a Touring then and there is no liability what so ever, plus you have your 4.0 NA engine.

Nah, I'll just take the corners at 55mph instead of 65mph, and I'll be fine!

I never said it was a dealer, just a high end shop. I don't buy the Porsche argument about stability but i understand why they issued it, shame about the spelling error. Anyway, for a street driven car the wing can be removed and you're not all of a sudden going to fly off the road.
If you don't like these products or any others then don't buy them. I like the look and i use the car on track every 6 weeks or so and can swap back/forth.
