DIY day .. could use a double check
OK.. so after brushing off the fear of uncertainty and just getting after it ....I am spending the weekend working on some maintenance items.
I took delivery of the car a few months back but have incomplete/unknown maintenance records/history so wanted to get everything current.
by that I mean ..
new plugs
new coil packs
new oil and filter
new cabin filters
where I am stuck or need confirmation is the location of the fill plug for the transmission. The transmission pan leaks - not sure if its the gasket or poorly tightened screws but ordered a new one and so here I am. From online searches and looking at the box... it seems that what I think is the fill plug is on the drivers side but I see two ... one is almost directly behind what looks like a clutch rod or some rod like fixture and the second is tucked behind two rubber hoses... I think its the one behind the rubber hoses.
If someone could confirm or redirect I would appreciate it.
While I have your attentions, is there any meaningful value/improvement in replacing the air intake filters with something OTHER than factory?
thanks for your help.
Jorge

- serpentine belt replacement, 4yrs/12k mi this is probably essential if you do not have svc history confirming this!
- engine air filters
- transmission oil
- brake fluid flush/replacement

Does this help?
Edit: if that plug is aluminum, it's single use, I'd replace it, just like the manual suggests.
Edit 2: I've never dealt with a PDK but it seems like you need PIWIS (or a knockoff) to put the transmission into the oil fill mode.

I wouldn't waste the money on new coil packs. I would remove the front bumper cover and blow out the radiators, otherwise you got it.
