Default Airbag question

I have been swapping out my seat for a track seat whenever I have a track day. This causes an airbag warning light that I clear when I replace the seat after the weekend. I plan on doing the same with a new to me 2019 GT3RS. I just saw a mention in a thread that states doing this disables ALL the airbags. Does anyone know if this is true? If this is the case, is there a remedy? Coding the car for bucket seats?

With my other 991 gt3 I was looking to swap out to recaro seats, and heard the same. Never could get a 100% answer if it disabled all or just seat.
The lwbs also have airbags and electronics the system is looking for, and I havemonly heard of places able to code out the airbag entirely. Whenever I asked business X if they could do it (after someone said they did on their car), they said no they couldnt.
clear as mud now?

Just asked this question in the BBI post as it shows Recaro seat install.

Have not seen a solution yet as I would be interested in swapping out my buckets.

I have two friends that are Porsche techs.

1. The airbag system is disabled, but can be triggered in a major accident. According to my trainer back in my Porsche training, the airbags will deploy even if the light is on.
2. I don't know I'll do some research for you... As soon as he gets back to me I'll post.

This has been discussed quite a few times here. There are two known shops that claim they can defeat the airbag light. See my post #13: https://rennlist.com/forums/718-gts-...g-light-2.html

i called my local Recaro and Sparco dealer, they promptly told me that they sell and install these seats in 911s all the time. Where the Recaro brand is sold with a resistor which plugs into the wire harness to trick the car that nothing has changed.

I suggest you call your Recaro dealer, check out the Recaro website for your local dealer who can also refer you to a shop.

Found this. https://rennlist.com/forums/991/1078...l#post16339172 Seems really complicated. I am just hoping the system is active as the light being on is temporary for me.

My other friend, Porsche tech, said that in his research only the disconnected airbag stops working the rest of the system is still active. I feel better..
