Default Swapping Out Seats to 18 ways?

Looking at a unique PTS 991.2 GT3 - only issue for me is that it has the LWB and I am too fat to sit in them comfortably, the interior is pretty unique and has orange deviated stitching, so I would need to keep the buckets for resale. How easy/expensive is it for me to find used sofa's and swap them out? I have heard people talking about doing it but how easy are these obtained as the car is very uncomfortable for me with the carbon buckets to the point that it isn't fun driving it. Are they sold frequent? I don't want to trade as I need mine for resale

Just swapping the seats shouldn't be difficult. There is coding that needs to be done to ensure certain alerts unique to the seats are resolved. A dealer or reputable shop should be able to handle this. You might not find exact match stitching but seats do come up for sale. Agree, definitely hold on to the originals.

Alternatively, and I'm sure you've already covered this, consider limiting yourself to a 991.2 GT3 that is only equipped with the 18-ways. Should save you time, money, hassle, etc. And in some instances, GT3's with 18-ways are less expensive due to the fact many people instead want the carbon buckets.

Good luck!

I have both 18 way and Lwb seats. Swapping them is super easy. The only thing other than swapping the seats is to remove the passenger occupancy sensor from the seat I taking out and put it in the seat going in. (Less than 5 min job)

Easy job. I don’t even disconnect the battery when I do it. I leave the ignition completely off, I’ve never had any codes to reset. Have swapped from LWBs to the base seats, and also from LWBs to 987/997 seats in my GT4. And back and forth a couple of times.

I pulled my 18ways out of my 991.2 GTS with a batter disconnect and threw an air bag code, so off to the dealer to reset. The next couple of times I disconnected the battery and no issues apart from having to reset the window limit sensors.

I swapped out my 18 ways for race seats. Any decent track shop can do it. Unless you’re a DIY guy, suggest farming this one out. 18 ways are quite heavy and its a pain in the ***.

I just might, can't seem to find them as easily as I would have thought. Don't have the car yet but still doing research on being able to procure them if needed

Haha. Fair enough. I’m in Houston. Let me know what you decide to do with the purchase.

Do you have some for sale or wanting to trade for buckets?

Ideally swap but we can negotiate if I can get my hands on some LWBS. They’re grey btw.
