Default Headliner collapse

The head (roof) liner on my 2014 GT3 is sagging badly, almost totally collapsed. I have to think the alcantara liner is glued on at the factory and there must have been a failure of the adhesive, maybe due to the car being exposed to the Florida heat.
Anyone experienced this? What did it take to fix it? New part or trip to an upholsterer? Thanks.

It must have been a bad week in Florida! Noticed the exact same yesterday on my 2015 Cayenne Diesel… thankfully GT3 doing well! Looking forward to the feedback.

Yes ,
My experience was very disappointing to say the least , flew home to Florida last winter the Tuesday before the 48Hours Of Sebring event , was so excited to be participating again. Wednesday morning pulled the car out of my garage to find the headliner hanging down , you know the kind of look you might see of a seventies Nova
headliner hanging down flapping in the wind going down the road with all the windows open due the ac not working.
Cost another grand to get corrected,
Really unacceptable on $150k , car kept in ac garage

A replacement headliner shouldn't be too expensive of a replacement part.

I commonly had this problem with my E46 M3's. I would use a 3M spray adhesive (no runoff residue) to tack it tightly back up.

Same thing happened to my 718 earlier this year. Dealer replaced full headliner.

The only time this ever happened to me was with a Honda Prelude. It was already past warranty, brought it in for a routine oil change to the dealership, and they replaced the headliner free of charge. I would think Porsche would do the same courtesy as Honda did for me.

BRAMAN , CHAMPION and Porsche West Broward told me NO , car out of warrantee and did not have that in house capabilities . I had a day to get the headliner out ,
found a shop in West Palm who pulled the shell and fortunately was able to re glue the original material , which I later had them re-install

Happened on my 2015. I had a local car upholstery shop re-cover with new Alcantara.

Road Show Chris, 4806 E. Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway, (192) , in Saint Cloud, FL did the headliner in my Audi. He usually has two or three European cars (Porsche, Mercedes Benz, Audi, Volkswagen) at a time in his shop for the same thing. He explained to me that the Germans are using "Environmentally Friendly" glue that doesn't hold up to heat very well. He did a great job on my car. I highly recommend. Champion said it would cost “thousands” to fix… Not even sure I would trust them to do it anyways. Will contact Road Show Chris. Thanks @ABNJOE !

Wow really? Granted my car was under warranty, but Champion replaced my headliner no issue and made it seem like it wasnt a big job and seems to be fairly common unfortunately for Porsche.

Yes, indeed. I have to say I was a little surprised. The service advisor said they do not offer repairs and would replace it. Said it would be in the thousands. Asked if she had any recommendations and she said ”this is one of the few things I have nobody I can recommend.” I got the impression she was not really interested in helping so I just hung up….
