Default Corner balancing

What sort of setup do you guys use or have tried?

i have been aiming at 50/50 for a long time. But starting to think of moving more weight to the rear.
and came accros some Cup car on IG running 40/60.

this is mine right now, 90KG driver and 65L of fuel.

You can’t really move weight via corner balancing. At least not without screwing up the rake or ride height. All you can do is change the cross weights.

any benefits to cross balance on a certain side for tracks that have mainly one side turns?
my wild theory was to load more on the right since majority are long and fast righters and short lefthanders

Exactly - you are trying to make the diagonal weights the same (left front plus right rear equals right front plus left rear).

Using the same Intercomp SW500 setup here. Wish I would have gone with wireless, as the cables are a bit of a hassle. These things are unexpectedly heavy too when all 4 are in the case!

Are you aiming for 50/50 front to rear in a 911? Will not happen, and car is not designed for it.

This is from my 2015 GT3 street car. With or without driver the front to rear balance only moves from 38.2 to 38.9% front.

FYI - best practice for corner-balancing is to place ballast in driver seat equal to driver’s weight…

Thanks will do next time. I was by myself when I did it and didn’t have the necessary ballast.

Yeah, should be standard practice for anyone using scales. Would be foolish to go through the trouble of making adjustments on a car with no driver weight.

With me in track gear the fronts weights suddenly match, and I see the rear left is too heavy. Ok on anti-clockwise circuits.

The goal is to have the cross weights match. The fact that the front is exactly the same is irrelevant. Always adjust spring perches in diagonal pairs in the same direction.

Mostly, but L/R balance is helpful if weight can be moved around. I wouldn't want 1,000/500 fronts and 1,000/500 rears.

you can’t move weight L/R or front to back via the suspension without messing up the ride height and/or rake. You’d have to physically relocate a component of the car, like the battery.
