I know of two early 2014's with E for E engine replacements with over 100k Miles on the odometer. Both are also occasionally tracked. I was a passenger in one and the car felt incredibly strong for the miles.
My only hypothesis is that during Porsche's rush to replace the engines early on they sourced FF & Cams locally (in Germany) and not through vendors outside Germany.
On a side note, both put out a puff of smoke on cold start-ups.

That’s not a 991.1 issue, that’s a 911 flat-6 issue since time immemorial. Actually, non-issue… oil can pool on the horizontal cylinder walls after shutdown then will puff out as smoke next start up. I’ve personally seen that on all 911’s going back at least 30 years.
Yep but the piston rings play a major role. They used loose ones in the beginning for good power. The downside is a little elevated oil consumption and the puff. The newer cars use optimized rings that seal better... maybe at the cost of more friction.
