Question GT3 RS Carbon Bucket to 4 Way

Looking at a 2019 GT3 RS and it has the Weissach carbon buckets. I am 6'3" and 275 so they won't work for me. I have seen a lot of threads talking about going from the sofa seats to the bucket or the bucket to the 18 way but can't seem to find a discussion of going from the carbon bucket to the 4 way. Is this easily doable and where does one buy the 4 way seats? Also what does LWB stand for? I have seen it in a lot of threads.

Yes you can swap out the LWB(light weight bucket) seats for 4 ways, I did it in my GT3, it’s 4 bolts each seat and 2 wire harness to unplug and re-plug. Very easy, hardest part is sourcing the 4ways, but they pop up every once in a while on the classifieds here.

Thanks for the reply, I think the sourcing is the hardest part especially getting seats that would somehow match the interior. The car I am looking at has Lizard Green, so can only get black/alcantera with black or grey stitching

Where are you located? I'm sure you can find someone on here locally who'll swap their 4-ways for buckets. I would, but my 4-ways have the red GT3 stitching in the headrest.

Located in Texas but don't have a car yet. Hesitant to pull trigger on one that I can't drive comfortably until I find a seat swap....also hesitant at the dang pricing I am seeing cokmpared to a year ago

If you're gonna swap seats I would not trade away the buckets....keep them to put back in the car when you move on.....

Same here. Red stitching on my 4-ways. I wouldn’t mind switching to LWBS but I’m very comfortable in the 4-ways and those make casually cruising around occasionally much easier. With that said, I had the buckets in my GT4 and loved them - the wife not so much. I’m also in the Dallas area.

@AgsWin I've got a 991.1 GT3 with 4-way seats that I'm trying to swap for LWBs. Also in TX. PM me if we line up the right way for a seat swap in the future.

Thanks, but I would keep the buckets for resale

you might try a set of P1Designs inserts with memory foam before you abandon the LWBS!

The seat cushioning isn't the issue, the width of the seat is the issue, at 6'3" and 275, the hips dont want to squeeze down into the seat, not even sure if my *** touches the padding or if I am riding on the sides :-)

I had the same problem, the inserts with the memory foam raise you up about 1" ... it was transformative for me

PM me after you get a car and are still looking for 4 ways. I have a set with platinum stitching that I would be willing to sell.

Have you sat in the carbon buckets? I’m 6 foot 250 and I find them very comfortable.

Yes, I test drove a 19RS in Houston yesterday. I am 6'4" and 305 and wear a size 44 waist jean, it felt like I was sitting on top of the side bolsters, after the launch It felt like I was wedged into the seat and would need a shoehorn to exit the vehicle when the ride was over
