Ethanol fuel in GT3
Would there be any problem running E20 fuel in the 991.1 GT3? I live in a country where finding higher non-ethanol octane fuel is hard. I’ve ran E20 for years on my other vehicles with no problem, I know the manual says no more than 10% but as we progress into the future I think ethanol is unavoidable.

Not sure with e10 I think it will pull timing some what but I think e10 is still better in terms of octane wise than RON95? (best non ethanol fuel offer here at the pump), I’m currently running stock map with e20 no issues whatsoever.

Ethanol has plenty of octane, but the issue is that it needs to burn at a richer fuel/air mixture than gasoline and when you have more than a little ethanol in the fuel, the ECU map no longer works as designed.

I guess there won’t be any issues right as I don’t hard park my car (as ethanol fuel degrades faster) just that the stock map won’t utilize the available octane with e20, it will have to run a bit richer to meet the correct AFR

I don’t know where the safe threshold is. I think I saw somewhere that a GT3 can run on E15, but I might be wrong and it could be E10 max. Check the owners manual in your market - maybe they have tuned it in your country to use E20, if that is common there.

I run E40, but my car is tuned for it. COBB Protune.
If you are not tuning the car, never add more than 9 Litres of E85 to a full tank. That’s the max. The ECU does have headroom to adjust fir that. Anymore and you will run lean, and have potential to go boom!

What ethanol level in tank does 9L of E85 equates to?

Here’s a list of every ethanol free gas station in the US and Canada.

Bumping this thread. I just read gasoline in the USA will now be up to 15% ethanol? I bought a little test kit to see how much is in my local gas. But if these cars can't run 15% or higher, what is gonna happen when all our gas has that much in it?
