Thoughts on tread ware MPSC2

My tires look worse after a single session. Don’t change them, keep using them until they really look bad, here are my fronts after 3 tracks days. I would run those off your car at Road America in a heartbeat, that track is not tough on tires. I will be there Mid May

Read your original post. Glad you didn't have a major accident. Wrong time wrong place = not good. What did you mount after the goodyear’s? I’ve considered getting a 2nd setup just for track and may be the way forward. It’s a learning curve, so leaning towards safety while gaining knowledge.
I will be going to 19" slicks now for track...

Some of you guys may want to look into a string alignment from a shop that knows what they're doing

A little feathering on the shoulders, but they certainly don't look like they've been on the track much. One track day of about 90 miles shows more wear on my car, with edge wear on the center ribs.

Accuracy. Dealer and sometimes factory alignments can be off substantially, mine was.
GT3 tire wear with a track spec alignment (or street + track spec) is a strong point, even and predictable. If you're practicing good habits as far as track day tire protocols and still experiencing chunking and irregular wear, it's worth a look.

I guess I'm feeling good about the overall condition of MPSC2's, current alignment and target track pressures. I read a lot on here about heat cycling out and performance falling off; not sure if that is indicative of tread wear or not. I was thinking "not". First event on the calendar this year is Road America and really did what to run there 3 days double stinting the RS, so new tires it is.

Those are in no need to be changed.
Sorry if this sounds condescending, but if those numbers are real, why are you even running Cup 2 shoes? I drove my 488 on mountain roads today on a cold day, and I lost an entire mm during 400 km of road driving. Mind you, I'm actually running the 991 GT3 set, so there is that basis of comparison.
My point is that if that's your wear from thar useage, then you ARE running the wrong tyre. Get a set of MPS4S. You'll be a lot happier. But wait until those are worn down...

There are zero signs of high temp. No marble pattern, no chunks missing. Good shape, ready to go.

I think the MPSC2’s wore well. Didn’t abuse them. But logged all the track data. Looking forward to getting back out.
First time to Mid Ohio, met the gentlemen in the GT4 that shared the video, minus the time stuck behind the 944, was a nice lap by my son. We double stinted the RS for 2 days running back to back sessions.

Cup 2, 2,500 mls, 3 track days. Toast, heat cycles.
Nankang AR-1 (100 treadwear), 2,200 mls, 5 track days. Nearly toast.
GT3 treadwear is remarkably strong. No tires available with heat cycles to match.

About five thousand miles on the set. Four track days, with a few hundred road miles between events.
I'd run them down to wear bars.
