Quick Disconnect Brake Lines - No Mess/No Hassle
Just reaching out to see if there is any interest in offering a quick-disconnect brake line solution for those that track their cars or remove their calipers often. It wouldn't be limited to just 991 models, but any Porsche model if demand is there along with some of the more popular BBKs. This would essentially eliminate the hard-line that goes into the caliper replacing it with a stainless steel braided line with a quick-disconnect fitting allowing you to quickly (and cleanly) disconnect the brake line during pad and or rotor changes. Perfect if you want to quickly remove the caliper completely without any mess and without risk of damaging your rotors (especially PCCBs), brake lines, or calipers. Or, perhaps you just want to remove your calipers to fully clean and inspect them without having to rebleed your brakes.
The fittings are Motorsports grade, do not leak, and do not introduce any air into the brake system when disconnected. As of now a lot of folks will either unbolt the brake line bracket, disconnect the hard-line, hang, or simply hold the caliper up while installing pads or new rotors depending on the application. This can put undue stress on your brake lines and the calipers can get in the way if you are doing suspension work or similar. Partial (Hard Line Replacement Only) or Full (Hard + Rubber Line Replacement) kits would be available.
Also, for those that like to bleed their brakes at the track, we are looking into a quick bleeder adapter setup that would utilize one side of the disconnect fitting to fill the caliper with fresh brake fluid, as opposed to refilling the entire reservoir/system with fluid every time. This setup could also be used to help isolate air bubbles in the system and/or even bench bleed your calipers.
If any of this sounds like something that could be useful let me know.
Thanks!

For those that are interested, here is what the couplings look like. They are made by Staubli. These are High-Pressure, Motorsports grade quick couplings. Depending on the application, the Banjo style fitting (shown in red) or the other standard UNF thread fittings could be used. Several colors are available, including red and yellow to match your iron or PCCB calipers. Pressure ratings are from 2900 psi (Al) to 5000 psi (Ti), couplings weigh as little as 11 grams. The flow rate/pressure drop is negligible in braking applications.

Seems like one of the benefits is that you won't wear out the aluminum threads of the calipers with the stock steel bleeder valves (sorts like using caliper studs instead of bolts). Is that true?

The main issue would be the overall height profile of the coupling, as you would not want it to be larger than the OE bleeder nipple for clearance and safety reasons. Such a compact design may be difficult to achieve.
Should know more within a day or so.

hello there
It appears to be a well-thought-out scheme. Some locals already have a setup similar to this that was built from the ground up. real estate istanbul
