Ive seen a couple more with higher miles on the forum, one guy in Colorado has over 100k on his IIRC. I have never ran into anyone in person with more miles than mine though.

I can't answer for him, but in my case I bought my car in December and I could not afford a 991.2. I am also comfortable with the engine warranty. Currently my car is worth more than I paid for it, and I'm quite satisfied.

The original engines fail, you can get a GT3 at relative bargain pricing and get the good one in there. It's a great value prop if you're up to the task.

At this point it shouldn't be a surprise. But I suppose it's a significant event within the ownership experience to take to the internet while you wait for the verdict, I know if I told my neighbor they wouldn't give a ****.

We use to have a decent catch-all thread that's nearly 200 pages deep which would regularly get bumped to the top. I agree it's probably not necessary to have a one-off for each particular event.

True. I’ll reach out to a MOD to see if they can close this thread.

because some people , not all, assume they can handle the issue/s , but when sh....t hit the fan ,they still get surprised and shocked.

I wouldn't - keep the thread open and keep the community posted on what transpires. It helps others understand what to expect if something like this happens. You've done nothing wrong.. Hopefully you hit the jackpot - best of luck..

I agree I for one like to hear the experience a member has in replacing ones engine.

I experienced the same issue this past summer, code was #5 cylinder failure. 2015 GT3 with 27,000 miles. After 3 weeks of the car sitting at Paul Miller Porsche NJ i got the car back with a new G6 motor. One of the rockers cracked in half.
Couldn't be happier after getting her back.

O wow nice. Good for you. I just got a call today from the dealer they said they’ll be doing diagnostics today and i should have an answer today on issue. They’ll be checking plug and coil on Cylinder #2 if that doesn’t fix the issue they’ll look into Cylinder Lobe.
