Here is some more data to the forum community:

- I changed my oil after a winter of not driving the GT3RS much recently (1200 miles)
- I was curious to see what my viscosity numbers would be with such short OCI. Numbers came back at 62 (SUS) and 10.9 (cST) respectively, basically worse than the viscosity numbers of a 4,000 mile OCI Macan S I recently did that uses 0w30 Mobil 1.
- Oil was Motul 0w40.

In conclusion, this engine shears the oil down and I suggest not to use 0w40. I would not use 0w40 and if you want to use it, change your oil often (although as you can see 1200 miles chewed the oil up).

This time around I put Motul 5w40 and I will see how that will come back. If not improved, I will ask Porsche for permission to use 5w50. My manual says to use 40 weight only but I think thats due to cats. I dont have factory cats (sports HJS cats) and I am not concerned with cat longevity. Will see what Porsche says.
