Funny no one has talked about this yet. Nankang just released tires in stock GT3 fitment! They dropped 8/6 mine arrived last week and were installed today.
No idea how they drive yet, going to do an autocross this weekend on them. Nankang CR-1 - 305/30ZR20
Nankang CR-1 - 245/35ZR20
Just under $1500 for the set from Phil's Tire.
Why did you choose these over the AR-1? Durability? Seems like a competitive 200tw tire, I'm not sure if it's any faster than the OEM Cup 2s or Dunlops however. Nice to see they're not stretched like the AR-1s.

I'm guessing the CR-S (formerly called CR-1) is no faster than stock tires, but if they're at least nearly as fast, cost less, and last longer, that's a win for many.
To the OP: Please report back with your impressions, lap time difference to stock and longevity. Thanks!
Most I have spoken with put the CR1 a close 2nd to the A052 for autocross. I have been told they heat up much quicker than the Cup2, or the RT660 in cool climates. I have a rear set coming that will be paired with the A052 front in the 19". I have been running 275/30-19 and 315/30-19 RT660 the last several events, so should have a decent feel for how they compare. One thing I am not clear about is how they will perform with 2 drivers when its warm out. We will certainly spray them between runs.

CUP2 tires are not competitive in SCCA autocross, not only that they are a 180 tread ware tire and not legal for stock classes. Basically you will get your A$$ handed to you at any autocross by people on "fast" tires. Even when heated up (takes at least 5 runs usually we get 3-4) the CUP2's are not on par. I do not have $10k to invest in custom 19in rims that the fast guys do.
As David as said, this CR-1 is suppose to be on par with the best 200tw tries, like the Yoko A052. This is also the ONLY 200tw tire that fits stock GT3 sizes.
For a track day, the CUPs's will be on, as they are great for that. but for TT and AX I think these tires will be way more fun!

Yeah, this is my hope and dream! I compete against a couple of fast GT4's, of course running A052 and the CR-1. One guy who is at AX Eats now runs A052 front and CR1 rear. He told me I will be at least 1sec faster on these tires. Yes, I have my sprayer handy! The last couple AX's have been in the mid/high 80s here in the PNW, and we have been doing "practice" that gives us 6-8 runs per session. I have all been spraying at least the rears of my Cup2's after run 5. It looks like now I"ll be like the Yoko guys almost continuously spraying the tires down.
I'll do a full repot on Monday, after my double header AX weekend. Hoping on a TTOD! (since the fast guys are at Nats)
No RS size options feels bad. These would blow away Cup2's in terms of pace but probably not track endurance. Also cheaper
Why do you say blow away Cup2 in pace? I think the AR-1 is maybe a bit faster than Cup2 (doesn't blow it away), but don't expect these to be as fast as Cup2 (significantly less aggressive than AR-1).
Too bad no 992 GT3 sizes either (10mm narrower than RS sizes).
I have been running these on my Miata, so far they are a bit slower than the RE71r. Looking at the data the difference seems to be in mid corner speed. But never tried them back to back and the CR-1 was done in Aug in Texas.
Both are 255 on a 10". The CR-1 is a little wider.
I tried the AR-1 today on a racetrack and didn’t like the behavior of those at all. I tried to play with the pressure but nothing changed for better.
The pro driver did try those as well on my car and experienced the same problem: they are not providing stability in mid speed corners. They are good at very tight corners and ensure proper grip when braking hard.
I checked the alignment of the car later to be sure the problem is tires and not the alignment. The alignment was absolutely OK.

Maybe on the track after some heat. Cup2's need too much heat to be good in TT/ax and are also not legal for stock competition and get **** on by hoho's in modified classes
