The PDK tuning is much better suited for the GT3's demeanor if you drive in Auto mode. It no longer tries to upshift to the tallest gear possible when gently cruising. Sport and Manual mode are untouched.

Looks like Dundon is offering pro-tunes to optimize the performance of some of their parts

Also note the disclaimer on their page to put the question to bed: NOTICE: Tuning your ECU will be visible to Porsche and can potentially void your factory or aftermarket warranty.

Why would you NOT want the car to upshift into higher gears when putzing around town? That's what Sport or Manual is for, no?

The normal programming is too aggressive to upshift around 2k rpms for my tastes. I prefer the Cobb programing. It's in between Sport, and Normal. I pretty much exclusively drive in manual mode so it doesn't matter either way, but for those times it's in auto, it's a big improvement IMO.

Depends on your throttle input. If it's upshifting at 2K rpm, then you're being SUPER gentle on the throttle
That said, it's cool this device lets you change the PDK characteristics. But is it just where in the rpm range the car shifts? Or are there other things this device allows you to do with regard to the PDK? I think I read you can adjust the clutch pressure too?

There probably is a total flash count somewhere but only con can answer your question definitively
If something big happens under warranty such as engine or transmission, the ECU will be dumped and sent to Porsche. They will then be able to see that the car was tuned/flashed back to stock and deny warranty. Normal dealer visits are fine.

Has anyone taken the plunge and purchased the Cobb tune? I’m considering getting it for my manual .2 GT3. I have Dundon long tube headers and JCR center bypass. Curious to see what the gains would be with those mods.

Why bother? Just have it shipped to someone out of state and then have 'em forward it to you. When are you gonna smog a 991 GT3? You won't need to until 2027. And can't you just load a factory map anyway?

So... anybody get this thing yet? It seems like a no-brainer. You get the most power increase per dollar compared to any other mod (exhaust, headers, throttle bodies, etc.). Why aren't more people jumping on this?

I contacted Dundon about this since I am using their headers and side deletes. They told me to hang tight since Cobb was fine tuning their tune. Something to do with open maps and making sure it works well with the car, etc.

With all of these motors being super strung out from the factory, why push it even more with a tune that could potentially shorten the life of the motor? Aren't these cars responsive enough? LOL

Sorry if the comment was negative in any way; not trying to diminish the hard work that goes into tuning, but pushing tolerances will (by nature) lower the life of mechanical components.

Do you have any specific data to show just how "strung out" these engines are? And what are the dangers of a tune, which simply changes timing, air/fuel maps, ignition, etc.?
