Hi
Currently, I live in an apartment in Queens, NYC. I was able to wrangle two spots in our building's garage for the GT3 and my DD. It looks like I'm going to be moving into Manhattan in a few months... and my new building does not have any garage spots available. I will put my name on the waiting list, but until then... anyone have any personal monthly garage recommendations on the UES ? $1100/month and potential Ferris Bueller'ing doesn't sit well with me; I did a SpotHero search and found some options but was hoping someone could recommend one specifically.
Thanks

the horror of putting a gt3 on the absolute lousy NYC streets. Your poor suspension

The 911 has been in Manhattan once, for a rally event. It usually goes around Manhattan - to Westchester, Connecticut, Jersey - or the other way, to Long Island. I avoid Manhattan whenever possible. I'm strongly considering garaging it outside of Manhattan.

I worked in Manhattan for over 20 years and used a number of garages. The thought of keeping a GT3 there makes me queasy. I would recommend finding one that 1/does not use a car elevator/lift, 2/does not place cars side-by-side AND front-to-back (i.e. landlocks vehicles), 3/can give you an assigned spot and not just any spot and 4/does not require an attendant to park or retrieve your car. I never parked on the UES but did have good experiences with Tunnel Garage on the south side of 34th street just east of 2nd (I loved that they had their own dedicated stop-light straight into the Midtown tunnel for L.I. and a direct cross-town route to the Lincoln). However, the garage itself is below ground and the slope of the driveway to enter/exit could be an issue for a GT3. I also had a good experience with a garage just next to the Ziegfeld theatre on the north side of 54th street just west of Ave of the Americas. I had my own spot and could retrieve the car myself. Sorry I can't get you closer to the UES but I'd look for something that hits the high notes n the criteria I provided and gave me easy uptown/downtown, cross-town, WSH and FDR access.
Best,
G.

Not UES but the safest place for a car I think in Manhattan. Automotion on 24 and lex. Robot garage - you pull in, tap a fob and it whisks it away. Kept a GT3 and a touring there with no issues.
That being said, UES is not bad. Tip the guys extremely well and they'll take care of it. GT3 is not that exotic around here

Underneath Lincoln Center on UWS is self park, no valets. I parked my M3 there for years, $450 a month. Plenty of Porsches, Mclarens etc. down there.

I live UWS. I park my fun stuff in NNJ. It's not fun to drive anything fun in NYC, it's crazy expensive and while you might end up ok I had an incident that was extremely unfortunate and costly (despite me having an incredibly good parking option with an UWS garage). Things can happen anywhere; I get it. However your chances jump substantially parking nice things in NYC. While London is plenty big and congested I'd park stuff there on the street with less worry than the best option in NYC (short of Jerry's garage on UWS
). People treat cars like full contact objects in NYC like no 1st world city I've ever been. I drive my cars like crazy; no garage queens. When people attach foam to cars and garage surfaces as a regular practice, it's a different view of car care than I choose to tangle with. All that being said, you will probably be fine.

also watch for Antifa smashing your windshield and damaging your car. Hopefully new mayor brings NYC back
