Default GT cars factory paint defect???

Dear all,

please check the following photos. Looks like overspray/excess compound? It’s located on the rear bumper where the reflectors are and on the under side of the rear bumper where the wheel arch is. Anyone else seen this on their cars before? Most importantly, is it resprayed afterwards or factory defect?

i know for a fact that recent P cars have A LOT of factory defects. Would like to hear your opinions.

When you say “flat black” do you just mean regular non-metallic gloss black or do you mean matte black?

Paint defects are common as are port of entry repairs, but if the car is matte then you have another problem.

How old is the car? Are you the 2nd owner? Sounds like it. From the looks of those pics, I would say that bumper has been repainted.

bumpers are painted by the supplier off site of the factory. So stuff like that should not be present and would be hard press to be missed by QA at the factory. Not saying it couldn't happen. But even on a new car the dealer prep should pick up on anything like that plus when you pickup the car from the dealer, I always go over it to make sure there's nothing wrong with the paint.

That looks just like when I've not buffed all the hardened carnauba wax off properly.

take it to a detailer and see what they say.

if its old dried up wax it should come off with some spray wax.
