Did you buy it? I agree with what others have said, if the premium you’re getting for your GTS is the same/in the ballpark of the premium on the GT3, then i would do it. Man math at its finest…

They're holding the car until the paperwork gets FedEx'd to me. I would feel guilty weaseling out at this point but could if needed.
To answer the question about my trade, the offer I got for the GTS was equivalent to about 80% of the bump in the GT3 price bubble. With my "man math" (great term, btw) I felt that it helped justify buying now.
Second factor, there are no GT3's where I live. I'm buying cross-country and shipping both-ways was a $3500-$4000 cost. Negotiated for dealer to absorb all of that.
Third, I live in Kansas and they do not give sales tax credit unless vehicle 1 is traded in for vehicle 2, so the strategy of selling my GTS outright and letting GT3 market cool-off wasn't an option - that's a $10k penalty, so that gets factored into the man math as well. 😃
Last and most importantly, I wanted to start HPDE events this summer and wanted to start that process with one car.
Honestly the biggest hesitation I had was on the type of transmission, could not make my mind up. Ultimately decided that I would be happy with either and will let my use of the car determine if my next GT3 will be stick or PDK.
I gave up a 964 factory turbo look, in order to soften the void in my bank account never thought I would be able to get such an offer on my 964 because it was not with out excuses. as someone else mentioned before the market is crazy across the board. I am extatic about the gt3 touring that I was able to snag. DO IT!
If you can sleep at night paying that price and/or if you can't sleep at nite not having the car there is your answer. You will undoubtedly be slightly upside down in opportunity costs when the dust settles in a year or two but you can always make more money

These prices may not ease for at least another year. Porsche has too many delays and inventory across the Country is at a minimum. Could take 12 to 18 months to get back to normal
Just ordered a 992 GTS Cabrio- will not even see it for 10 months
In fact I am waiting myself as Ive been on a bit of a spending craze lately.
Was going to get 992 as I had the ability to get MSRP. But after much pondering and test driving. I think better money will be spent on a .2RS for myself.
All these cars up for sale right now don’t get driven as is. Next summer the will be 30-50k less.
My buddy is a GM at one of the largest dealers In the USA. They will be selling significantly more GT3s for the 992 Gen. These insane prices won’t last.
Echoing what others have said. If its the right specs u wanted and its a car u plan to keep long term then I would buy it! I will be in the market for a .2 since it's pretty much impossible to get allocation for the 992 unless u pay an absurd price adm for it. It will be hard to find a used .2 in my specs. But I am willing to pay 20-30k over msrp for a car with my type of specs.
That was before Joe Biden printed $10T to fund his executive orders which is now the source of recent inflation and decline of the Dollar vs Euro.
Porsches are made in Euro-land, USD exchange rate is a serious factor. Higher new car prices affect the recent model, one gen down, on pricing, as PF clearly makes tis point
I glanced over you have a GTS to trade....do it....you're getting a super strong number on that car which offsets the "premium" you're paying on the GT3.....you'll regret it if you don't
It it’s the right spec just buy it. Whether or not prices go down soon is a crap shoot.
Many might think I’m crazy, but I wouldn’t be surprised if that car is $250K in 5 years. My bet is desirable assets will continue to climb for the foreseeable future.
