LWBS leather bolster protectors 991.2 GT3 RS
#3
if you are careful and fit you can get in and out without rubbing anything. I have them just to let me be a bit lazier.

Even if you are careful you will eventually rub the lower part of the seat on the LWBS. Also you are protecting the passenger seat and you can not control how other people get in and out. It’s just an added protection, do you need it....no, but why not. We don’t need PPF either, just an added level of protection. I chose to have both, just in case. And you can’t tell I have either one.

^ In my experience, the leather still wears under the protector especially if you slide in over the protector. There still will be wrinkles and depending on the amount of play on the protector, smoothing of the leather underneath. About the only thing I think it does is keep sharp objects from scratching the leather underneath. Of course if you install the protector so there is zero free play and never slide across it or put weight on it, then it will look new, but then again if you do that you don't need a protector.
I myself have been careful but it's not perfect and my seat looks slightly worn but no different than any other 10K mileage GT3 I have seen with or without a protector.

Yes on the protectors - eliminates stress

Depends how careful you are and how particular you are. Similar to asking if you need clear film. If you care about rock chips and ever drive with someone in front of you, the answer is yes.

They dropped a bit of the stress for me - especially on the passenger side. Just let people jump in without taking the time to provide detailed "don't slide over the bolster" instructions.

It seems like the deep leather lines come from bending and compression of the bolster since they aren’t very firm underneath the leather.
I’m not convinced that a bolster cover on top is going to prevent that kind of damage so seems superfluous? I’d appreciate if others that have used it noticed a meaningful difference in deep line marks on the leather?
