Hi Fang911, I bought a new E-63S back in 2014.. I also attended the AMG Driving School Weekend Event at
Circuit of the Americas. After Tracking ALL the AMG models, including their Sportscars, found that I enjoyed the
handling of the E-63S best of all models. The Ride is rather firm which I really like, but if you are looking for the cushy comfort
of the Mercedes S Class cars, this may not be the car for you. Being a 2014 Model I have the Larger 5.5 Liter Engine
with HUGE Torque at low RPM which yields instant response in Traffic. With 0-60 in 3.5 Seconds the acceleration
is spritely to say the least. Motor Trend tests concluded the HP was far underrated at 577 HP. The standard Harmon Kardon
Audio System is far superior to Porsche's standard system but the Transmission is slower than Porsches PDK DC system.
Other than replacing the original small and large Mercedes Batteries, (which now come with LIFETIME free Replacements)
we have had ZERO problems with anything on the Car. The MSRP includes what would be many thousands of dollars of what
would be "Options" on all Porsches at half the price. The E-Class Trunk is huge and under the Trunk is a full collapsable Spare
Tire, Compressor, Jack and Tools. Depreciation would be far lower in dollars than either my 2015 Panamera TTS or my 991 TTS.
We both love the car and have no intention of selling it.

I will put a hearty endorsement in for the BMW M6 Gran Coupe... love the car, looks great, awesome handling and sexy looks.. if you need new then maybe M8 GC
M6GC is RWD and is highly adaptable with dampers/transmission/throttle response/traction control... very fast and nice engine huge power
Just slap some all-weather tires and you'll be all set for the winter except for deep snow
Not a fan of BMW's in general, but am a huge AMG fan. Go drive one. The E63s is a amazing car. Have a w212 e63s and it is one of my keeper, forever cars. Truly a outstanding sounding German muscle car
The car is an animal. A rollercoaster when you want it to be, and a calm highway cruiser with back massage when you are commuting.
I got out of mine because I did not like the tech in it. The face lifted version will have the latest and greatest tech.
The only downside to this car is that it drops like a rock in value, like most AMG's do (except G wagons). So make sure you get a deal right away when you buy one, as with all Mercedes - there is a lot of room for negotiations.
I have a 2020 E63S sedan as a semi-daily driver, with a 2020 Taycan Turbo as the other semi-daily driver. Both are fun and comfortable, but also are very different. The Taycan's ride is better and it's a more engaging drive; it's a sports car versus a sports sedan. The E63S is larger inside, rides quite stiffly, and is always raring to go: power delivery is vicious (in a good way) and loud (in a good way). I have the Burmester hi-fi option (versus the standard Burmester) in the E63S and it's the single best car audio system I've experienced. It's better than the Taycan's Burmester, which I've heard, but don't own; my Taycan has the always-meh Bose. I alternate driving the Mercedes and the Porsche, but the Mercedes will always win for a drive that's more than 200 miles away from home because of the Porsche current patchy fast-charging network. I'm recently retired, so my "daily" drive doesn't really exist. If I was still commuting to work, the Taycan would strictly dominate the Mercedes for comfort and engagement.
Having researched the E63S thoroughly, I also came to the conclusion that things start to break after a few years. I bought mine with a 7-year bumper-to-bumper warranty, i.e. extending the factory warranty by 3 years. Almost any electrical or mechanical issue during years five to seven will make the warranty worthwhile.
Fantastic car. While I don't own one, I have seat time in a 2014 E63S, the AWD one with the 5.5L biturbo V8. Handles well given it's size, plenty of power, great brakes, really great sound. When it comes to an involving driving experience in a daily driver, I think AMG is pretty much as good as it gets. Other brands are starting to become less involving, but AMG is trying to keep driver involvement and sound high.
My friend just drove the new RS6 and said that while it was quick, it didn't feel special at all and largely felt like any other Audi. This doesn't really surprise me, but I do think the RS6 is one of the best looking cars to come out in recent years. Have no experience in the modern M5's, only the E39.
E63S all the way imho. Mine is a 2014 E63S but its my 3rd E class AMG and all have been amazing to own as a DD. I tried a Panamera 4S a while back for my daily but it was too much of a Love/Hate relationship so I ended up trading it in for my AMG.
I'll eventually get a 2019 CPO E63S but I'll probably not trade my current one as its tremendous fun with the Eurocharged tune ( 740hp-825 lbs tq ) , spins in 1st/2nd and some of 4rd gear and runs sub11's , what's not to like ?
Ride is firm, but not as firm as my Panamera. Best sounding V8 BiTurbo out there. Cold starts are so theatrical.
I have modded mine quite a bit outside and in as you can see on the outside with the widened rear fenders. Since it is a forever car for me, might as well make it exactly the way I want it. Also have the Eurocharged E30 Flex tune and corresponding engine mods. Car is a absolute blast stock, but with Downpipes, tunes, etc. they become complete animals that will test almost any super car in a sprint.
Interesting to hear the Taycan Turbo is more sporting / engaging than the E63S...will have to take a look at the Taycan but it's a pretty penny and I'm not sold on the isolation chamber that is my brother in law's Tesla P100D. Depreciation on a new E63S / M5C / RSX is also a concern- 1-2 yr old examples are often $30K+ less than a new one which is fine if not for my automotive ADD. May have to investigate a late model M6GC, W212 E63S or perhaps a new C63S.

I had a Tesla P100D for three years. It was quick, had outstanding infotainment, passable self-driving on freeways (only) and a $50k car interior. Elon Musk’s repeated announcements of vaporware were annoying. It proved that an EV doesn’t have to be boring. It was not a sports car. The Taycan is and I’m really impressed by it. Every time I drive it I think “this is a really great car”. I really like the E63S for all its positive attributes too. We live in a golden age of automobiles.
Audi RS5 is my daily, amazed at the comfort and performance is exceptional. It is not at all firm in the comfort mode, very plush. I love the all wheel drive sure-footedness. Is that a word? Haha
My advice is test drive everything on your list, only way you’ll really know which will capture your heart.

Great question and ive owned e63s and ive driven taycan turbo. I personally would get the e63s and I loved it. Last point, I am the last guy to get an electric car but the taycan is very cool.
I own a 2019 C63S and have snow tires for winter. That said, winter has been tame the last couple of years. The car is a hoot. As others said, the AMG's are essentially German muscle cars. I had the last version Audi S7 and while a capable car, it was not a driver's car. I've owned BMW's and liked them, but I find the current crop unattractive and boring inside. I know they drive well but couldn't get excited about BMW once Chris Bangle took over. Even though he's long gone, they really haven't built anything that I had to have in years.

Thanks for the insight on the Taycan Alex, gives me hope for the future. Looks like Porsche did a stellar job on the details of this thing. Friend spent 90K+ on a Tesla and body panels don't line up, was missing some sound deadening material as well in one of the doors. He's not really a car guy so it didn't bother him while I was having internal seizures on his behalf....
