At some level, if someone steals it I kinda just feel like "well, insurance will handle it". I guess as I get older I want things simpler. The "adventure" of it all has worn off for a non-professional racer.
If you have a PDK Cayenne, then the towing should be limited to 1500kg.
If you have an torque converter automatic transmission Cayenne, then the towing should be limited to 3500kg.

Probably you are right.

ps. I have forgotten the "multi quote" function, hence too many messages - apologies

Cayenne turbo has a 7500lb towing limit with the factory trailer hitch - I don't believe they come with a PDK (at least in the US).

Agree - I thought I read something about the second generation Cayenne and owners complaining about the limited towing ability. Probably another make / model and I am mixing it up.
My wife still has an old 2008 Cayenne Turbo and it is quite good in towing. My son calls it "the black tractor"

That 3K is a good deal on any all aluminum trailer, Just make sure you have enough width to accommodate that width of the RS. I had a buddy switch from the smaller Trailex 7541 to the bigger 8045.

With that towing Cayenne Turbo capacity, I would suggest spending the money from selling your Diesel truck and trailer towards the enclosed Trailex. That way you have all the advantages of an enclosed trailer being towed by your Cayenne Turbo. Of course, this is coming from someone who is trying to convince the wife that is a good investment to replace my open with the enclosed. So far, no luck! LOL

I frequently tow my RS with a ‘19 Cayenne S and open Featherlight trailer. It pulls like a dream - much better than a Ford F-350 I rented once. I like the minimal hassle factor aspect and I can move the trailer around by myself. No issues with debris hitting car during towing, the track is 10x worse. I am not concerned with theft. I think a nice looking enclosed trailer is more inviting to thieves. Rarely do people bother you driving on the highway other than slowing a bit to check out the car.

For any decent aluminum trailer, that is an insane deal... Snag and enjoy it!

Yup - should be a great trailer for the short term.

As others said, open trailer with wind deflector/ solid bulkhead should offer plenty of protection for the car.

cayenne turbo is plenty strong enough. If you are going up and down valleys, put in sport mode or shift manually to avoid transmission hunting between 7/8th as this could cause high temp in transmission

For me..... living with an open trailer and the benefits of towing a light weight open trailer far outweighs the attention my set-up gets while going to and from the track. Although I do get a bunch of thumbs-up.

It's not on their website, but I bought mine directly from Trailex. Give them a call.
