Default Aftermarket tire temp sensors?

Coming recently from McLaren, I miss their TPMS system that also reads and displays tire temps. Has anyone looked into those aftermarket valve stem caps that can measure temps? They look bulky AF though.

What about the michelin track connect kit and psc2 connect tires? That is my plan, sitting at the dealer waiting for my service in Jan '21.

Not quite sure measuring the general temperature of the air in the tire would be any use. I mean, measuring relative tire temperatures across the tread, from outside edge, then middle, and then inner edge, will give you information you can use to optimize tire pressure and suspension settings. What would you use the temperature of the air inside the tire for? Just asking, maybe I have something to learn.

It is not air temperature... it is center rubber tire temp. You are exactly right, it is not as good as inner, middle, outer measurements but it is real-time and provide more accurate measurements than infrared.

Sadly, the best ive gotten from Michelin is the new compound on the "connect" tire outperforms that of the specific models for the porsche gt series. There are some videos and such but not hard answers... i will report back how they compare on the gt2rs during hot laps at Laguna Seca.

I fitted my Michelin Connet’s last week to my GT3....not sure when I will be able to use them in anger though. From reports from people that have already used them they seem to be a step on from the normal Cup 2.
