I'm curious to know the opinion of fellow RL members on PTS when it comes to GT cars. As an owner or prospective buyer, do you see value in having a PTS car? Obviously the color will matter and I'm sure no single color is for everyone, but does the exclusivity of having PTS translate into a premium for these cars? I personally bought a PTS Riviera Blue car because I loved the color and I liked the exclusivity. I preferred this is an option for myself over CCB or buckets, as this is an option that meant more to me than those. Just thought I'd ask the group their opinion!
For me it’s more value not to look at the basic colors, and I think Porsche lacks offerings. The value to me is a color I like, and don’t care for the resale if I go that route.
When I bought my first Porsche 20+ years ago, I was kinda annoyed with the endless option lists. I was used to Lexus, with 1-2 option packages and that was it. When I got my second Porsche, I realized the fun and uniqueness in getting options from the factory that 'customized' the car.
At that time, 'splurging' for the 'Special' colors was a unique enough experience. That was probably a reflection of the time before Porsche became a larger volume dealer with multiple models. In retrospect PTS was probably the best 'bang for buck unique option' that nobody actually did (I think it was less than half the cost it is now).
Now, the option list is still extensive, but most people tend to pick the the same options on a GT3 (PCCB, Buckets, FAL), with a lot of the other options relatively standard. Illuminated door sills, CF trim, etc. can be added after, and unless someone is sitting in the car, the extensive CXX options are not noticed, thus the last 'unique' option is PTS.
I tend to keep my cars a long time, so I wanted a PTS car, to attempt some uniqueness, not only in a GT3, but along the entire Porsche line. I appreciate that Porsche allows that, and thus it adds value to me.
It definitely adds value to me. Like others have said, there will always be someone who likes the color and someone who thinks it’s horrible. I like the color and knowing that there isn’t another touring that is the same adds to the enjoyment for me personally.
added value to me - I certainly would not expect to discount my car if I were to come to resell it I would base it on the MSRP which included the $12380 PTS

I am on P car number two and I am pretty smitten with GR but a PTS car definitely has some value if you find a buyer that really loves your PTS color. Your RB is one of the colors that I think will add some value as it is a very well thought of PTS. Good choice in my book, enjoy your new girl.

Value is a four letter word here, but anyone who paid $13k for PTS has already made that decision, especially on something as basic as Carbon Grey Metallic:
at $13K, for very substandard workmanship, PTS has lost a lot of its appeal with all the fantastic wraps being offered,
order the car in Black enamel and wrap it...the possibilities are endless and the work is flawless if you go to the right shop.
PTS certainly adds considerable value to me, but I don’t buy anything, at any price, that doesn’t. What others chose “value” with their money is their business. Certain questions an adult should be able to answer without the advice of others.

Do wraps really look as good as paint though? I feel like a lot of wraps look pretty obvious up close. At least when I’ve seen them.
And at $13k for PTS, how does that compare to a custom paint job at a reputable shop? I’ve thought about having a car custom painted before, but never really looked into it. Is there a down side vs PTS?

I don't know how the PTS program is now, but the 5/18 delivery I took was absolute ****!
Terrible paint job and ridiculously negligent transport and paint protection.
When you look at a Porsche PTS paint job compared to Ferrari or Lambo its a joke.
