Sounds like a fun drive!

Im heading to Telluride Monday in my 991.2 GT3RS. Such a great drive a cool town. Our favorite mountain town.

You may see the early part of the aspen tree color change for your trip. Also- i think it would be worth it to divert a bit and drive the Million Dolllar Highway. A few hours south of Grand Junction.

OK think we have a route from Colorado Springs to Vegas that takes in the best of CO. Then Vegas to SF via Death Valley and up the 395.
Staying in Grand Junction, Page, Vegas and Mammoth. Which will be a couple of longer driving days 7h+, then a shorter day in the middle 4h then two longer days home.

Will take the 82 from Twin Lakes via Aspen to Glenwood Springs but Google Maps thinks the road is closed (but it's open!)

We can't do Moab/Arches etc as it's parallel to the 550 (Million Dollar Highway etc) but will pass via oljato monument valley.

When do you plan on rolling thru Durango, CO?
We have a strong group of Porsche enthusiasts here, we could meet you up at Molas Pass, elev. 10,910... and escort you into town.

Really appreciate the offer, we are probably leaving Grand Junction early on Saturday morning and hitting the road as we have a long day.

End of Day 1 - Epic drive from Colorado Spring to Grand Junction via mountain roads. Special thanks to John at Colorado Spring for working with us over a short period of time to get the car purchased and ready to go.

The car is special, would never have chosen black but it works perfectly with the discrete GT3 vibe.

Car had GMG center muffler on, not sure about it to be honest. Getting an odd boomy noise around 5k, got the original so may swap back if it’s not too hard.

So the car is amazing

Motor - Special, it flys in the right gear. Overtakes in 3rd are fun. Above 5k is another world.

Manual Transmission - It is taking some getting used to, but overall good. Looking back PDK is great but there is no involvement, every shift is perfect. We will be using the Touring as our only car daily drive, but live in SF so don’t need it most days. Think it will work out well.

Handling - Probably the most impressive part. Yes around town it’s not great over bumpy roads but once out and about it corners flat and rides really well at the same time.

Made it down to Page AZ. Amazing drive, the 550 to Durango is special.

Much more comfortable with the car today, starting to feel natural changing gears manually after 7+ years driving autos/PDK.

Still not sure about GMG center muffler delete

Yep, we are having a great time. Thanks to the forum for helping with the route, not sure it could be any better.

Short run tomorrow to Vegas with a planned stop in St George for lunch.

what's up with the gmg? I've thought about adding it, so what's your concern?

For me there is an unpleasant ‘boomyness’/resonance at around 5k. Seems to occur when changing gears.
