touring schmouring. It’s a GT3 but slightly diminished by lack of wing.

Bill, there is one that shows up periodically at Apex Motor Club. He also has a 997.1 pumpkin that he runs. He seems to split duty about 50/50 and is out there a couple times a month. He drives the 911R like he should (like he stole it).

I have another one and it will have a lot more miles next year. As the flippers and collectors slowly sell to enthusiasts, I suspect you'll see more with miles. It's magnificent.
congrats on sale. Impossible to replicate the R driving experience and hopefully new owner will drive it

when does your Black R arrive....details?

I finally got over 1K miles on Speedster so hope to have R vs Speedster feedback shortly. Very different but both great cars

If u have no time, then that's different story
if you have 10 cars, then maybe not many miles on R
if you have 3 cars, inc an R, drive the damn car. it's just a car, and life is short. I am not interested to discuss my low milege xxx car when I am in hell.

This is the truth for the people who can buy these cars. They have multiple cars and they usually work... so realistically may can't drive a lot. That said.. for me I had the means for a 911R but I needed a daily driver and went with a GT3T because it was already high in miles when I found it (12k) and I know I will put at least 30k miles on that car in 3 years. So for me - I would feel bad putting 30k miles on what I consider to be a top 5 all time car (911R).

That car is straight perfection.

Glad to meet another enthusiast that not only drives their cars but also enjoys washing them.

True. I fail to understand why people don't like their cars enough to drive them... saving them for the next owner I suppose?
Back in the late 1990s and early 2000s I went through six Ferrari's and put over 50,000 miles on each of them, with my TR accumulating over 100,000 miles.
I got lots of smiles per mile!

Best 911R I've seen so far had a bit of curb rash on the RR wheel.

I abhor curb rash, but it sure worked in this case…far cooler than another "perfect" R.

The only time I like a perfect car is the day I take delivery of it and hopefully thats the last time it is ever perfect again, because that means I’m having fun with it. I learned long time ago keeping a car perfect/low-mileage brought me no joy and plenty of anxiety. I know everyone approaches the hobby differently, but for me, if I don’t feel comfortable making it “un-perfect”, it’s not the car for me; R or other. Don’t get me wrong, I maintain and care for them ridiculously well, but I use them care-free or I sell them. No car is worth a pit in my stomach every time I scrape a driveway or get a rock chip. Been there, done that. Never again. I LOVE seeing well worn examples of cars most people mainly just stare at; those examples and their owners fascinate me, road-rash and all.

Fast forward to 1 min 31 for a nice view of my garage queen being caught on this guys GoPro 😉 It is quite funny hearing someone talking about your car when they don’t know you are going to hear.

I used to like perfection .
now if that thought comes up, I look at my left knee with 4" long surgical scar...
if I am not perfect, my car should not be any better than I.
