We have swapped out more buckets to sport seats than the other way around. It's good to have options. Nothing wrong with either. It's a stereotype to think one has to have certain style seat in certain type of car. Bottomline is it's down to personal preference and the use of the car for that individual.
One small note, the seat belt anchor point for the bucket is on the seat rail vs sport seat is bolted to the chassis. So from bucket to sport seat u'll need to poke hole on the carpet. From sport seat to bucket the hole will need to be plugged. For OCD people that would be a bummer.

Then let me be the first. I have cars with all three seats. I hate the 18 ways, find them very uncomfortable and on long trips I always have back issues. Never with the buckets. Personally, I will not buy a car without bucket seats.

Love my 18 ways, its really easy to drop 10k off the price up front so if you plan on enjoying the car, dont worry about what makes it resale better. You can put multiple aftermarket buckets if needed, and you can enjoy the comfort. I would rather be comfortable (if you cant be in buckets) save the money upfront, and not worry about the 5 or 10k in the end. I hated the buckets, and cant see spending 170k on a car that has seats that dont fit for me. I also enjoy having my wife or friend come along for the ride. Its just a car, and someone will want it no matter the seats.lol

Had all the seat types, found the buckets the most comfortable and enjoyable for both short/long term driving. I am 5'9'' and about 125lbs or so. I would not spec a gt car with anything other than the buckets, but as you can see, YMMV

If buckets don't bother your back, then go for it. I wish buckets were more comfortable for me.

I spec'd 18 ways with seat heating. I wouldn't give them up for street driving nor heating for winter driving. If it was a track car, I'd want buckets but there are lots of choices for those.

In a word, No. I buy cars for myself and my needs, not for the next guy. The buckets look great and clearly have the required “street credentials”, but they are not race seats. The LWB are not uncomfortable once you are ensconced, but they are challenging to get in and out of, and the lack of adjustable rake is a real issue if you have any back/neck issues. The 4 way and 18 way are not “sofas” and provide adequate support for the occasional track event and more than sufficient support for DD duties. The GT car 18 ways do not have a position memory which makes no real sense, but that’s Porsche’s way of telling the world that’s how a fully electric seat is done for a GT3 or RS. Try all the seats and find what’s best for you and your SO if that’s a requirement.

I've owned, 4 way SS+, 14 ways, 18 ways and LWBs. I'd rank them LWBs, 4way SS+, 18 ways, 14 ways.

Sofas kill my back after an hour in them, while the support offered by the buckets allow me to drive for hours in comfort. I'd never spec a Porsche without LWBs, street or otherwise. The support, particularly laterally, is a godsend for me.

This is a similar order to what I've heard.
The key thing here is that the free base 4 way seats are actually more comfortable for more people than paying for the 18 way seats. Not everyone feels this way, some prefer the 18 ways, but more people prefer 4 way over 18, so when someone says they hate the 18 way, I always suggest they try the 4 way seats before they assume it's just either or, 18 way or LWB, when for many, including myself, the base 4 way seats are the most comfortable.

Its really what you can manage, I would have loved lwb but could not manage them, the 18 ways rock, but I am tall and, somewhat thin, so i fit in them. I have 18 ways in my macan gts and absolutly hate them. But it was CPO so its what it is. I have adapted to them, but i can adjust them, the bucks are what they are, and if you plan to do 400 mile days, And I do, then its brutal if you cant make adjustments. Maybe not for some, but for most, anything that can be adjusted is easier to adapt to. I drove 100 miles in buckets and would have ripped them out if it was my car. They sure are pretty though.

When you say all three seats, do you mean that you have a car with the base 4 way seats (not 14 way seats)? Many people with GT cars find that the 4 way seats more comfortable than the 18 way seats.

You know, I wonder how many of those that have tried 18-ways and find them uncomfortable never bothered to actually TWEAK all the settings. It probably took me a full hour to really dial mine in the first time and I've made a few several small tweaks since then. It would be excellent if there was a memory function on them too - even if nobody else ever drives the car.
Similarly, it amazes me how many people drive nice cars with their air vents pointed in all different directions - with some vents closed even - and the fan set on minimum and the temps set on 62 on the drivers side and 82 on the passenger side and say "man I can't believe how much the AC sucks in this car!" Then I set the temp on 70, press the "auto" and "sync" buttons and suddenly they are like "WHAT DID YOU DO??? IT WORKS GREAT NOW!!!!"
