Long time lurker here and had this tremendous opportunity came knocking and pulled the trigger on a CPO guards red for an out of state purchase. It ticked all the check boxes I wanted in (carbon ceramics) except for buckets. Came from the bmw community which I’m still active in and have owned all sorts of interesting M cars.

Gotta say though that me jumping in to a GT3 is just a mind blown experience, jaw dropping and a fantastic overall track package. It appears this one was also wired for a K40 radar jammer.


heres a few quick snap on my phone. Since this was an out of state purchase sight unseen, first thing I did is to take it for a quick canyon run, wash and a quick wax and check for imperfections and then another canyon run. All these odd noises I’m hearing i.e induction noise, can of marbles ricochet at idle, etc just screams race car. lol

Beautiful, congratulations. Mine is still relatively new to me too, so I know what you're experiencing. Loads of fun. I also bought mine sight unseen, nerve racking.
I have owned a few M cars in my past too, but they don't compare to the GT3!

Side note: Were your centerlocks hit with an impact gun? They look a little chewed up and/or just discolored.

Doubt can be replaced under CPO but I can ask the dealer as I’m taking it in to check on the passenger illuminated door sill as it’s no longer lighting up. Driver side is fine.

I used to be a big F80 guy. Tracked at Spa, etc. The GT series 911s have so much more character than the M cars these days.

 

OP Congrats I made the same jump as you a month or so ago (Former M3 F80/E92/E46...etc. owner to a 991.1 GT3). Totally jealous though..Guards Red is what I wanted!

i've seen you on m3post (i'm E46m3forRay there). We have very similar past M cars except i had an E90 slicktop. Wow, quite an impressive m crowd presence in here. Truly amazing.


i found that the front and rear are wired with a K40 radar jammer. It was the first thing i tried removing out of curiosity and sure enough, it's wired. Going to leave it there for now as it doesn't bother me at the moment.
