Default .2 GT3 rear springs bulletin

My .2 GT3 is at the dealer to replace the 2 rear springs according the well known bulletin
Will they have to do a geometry setup once they replaced the springs ?

Default Yes, an alignment is needed

after new springs are installed. Dealer should do that for you.

As for "what bulletin," it has to do w/ the rear springs binding. IF you have noise in rear shock towers when going over bumps, ask dealer to look for signs of paint chaffing on rear springs. If so, they will replace them w/ new ones w/ plastic-dip coating on first few coils to prevent binding.

Had this done on 991.2 due to noise from spring bind. Issue solved with new springs

Dealer replaced mine few months ago, along with 4 wheel alignment. No more clicking noise from rear end as the suspension compresses.

I have not bothered. But query -- if paint rubs off, how tough is the rubber coating long term, one wonders?

The rubber coating will hold, it is rather thick
Paint rubs off because of the metal to metal friction

I would guess metal to rubber friction will only last so long.

I just picked mine up from having this bulletin performed. Night/day difference, as I had to listen to the rear end creak everytime I went over the four speedbumps I cross getting in/out of my townhome garage. Mine was very bad, especially with the FAL engaged. Absolutely no noise now, and feels less harsh over those bumps and in general. Very happy I checked into this, as it was extremely annoying and I thought it was just something I'd have to get used to.

Mine only does this on harder bumps. It's so minor, I rarely notice it. One of these days I'll take it in for replacement.
