Replacement 991.1 Engine Question

Had smoke on startup with my F motor, but never on my G motor yet. It’s normal from what I understand on cars that are babied and/or shut off abruptly without idling for a few secs.

I was at the dealership today and showed them the video and they said it's normal as long as it stops and doesn't keep on producing smoke.
I'll try to let it idle for a few seconds before shutting down to see if that makes a difference. My car is not babied (4 track days already this year) but I don't think abused either as I do the required maintenance with minimal annual oil change and brake flushes.

Will the smoking be considered enough reason for the motor switch to the "G" motor? Did you guys with the G motors have any other issues in order to be eligible for the G motor swap?

I have a late 2014 that got the motor replaced before delivery in 2014 but not a "G" motor. It smokes up maybe 1 in 5-6 starts. Here's a video. Anyone else with similar issues?

Service person said if the valve seats are leaking it would be on going smoke even while you drive. Mine just poofs smoke at startup and then drives fine. No lights or other issues.

Its nothing to worry... the piston rings are designed that way. They made them mor tight with later engines to reduce oil consumption. But the smokers may run with less friction and have a bit more power.

To your second question...no other issues other than engine faults at high RPMs.

A little smoke at start up, especially after a long rest, is quite common. The criteria for a new motor are very specific, including CEL showing abnormal detonation, and inspection which shows abnormal rocker arm wear.
