Question for the OP. Curious how long these batteries are 'good' to just sit in a corner in the garage? I have a '15 M4 which came stock with a Li ion battery, so it is now 6 yrs old and a '16 991 GTS which has the original AGM Porsche battery, now 5 yrs old. I have been debating whether to get an antigravity battery as a 'spare' should one of them fail. Both test fine currently. They may go another 1 yr or 3 yrs. Who knows.... Would the same replacement Li battery work for either car and what model would this be? I would want the best available. Thanks for your help.

As long as it's not connected to anything you should easily be able to let it go 6-8 months or so as lithium has an very slow self discharge rate in comparison to lead/acid compositions. Of course it would always be best to check it every few to confirm good voltage but you shouldn't have any issues there. I would think the H6 should be good for both but I'd want to double check the measurements on the M4 just to be sure as I'm not seeing specific group sizing on their lithium model.

Email sent! Similar question. How long will the stock battery last once it’s removed? Not that I would need it. Just curious as to what people do with their stock battery once they install a lithium one. I’d like to keep if for instance I sell the car I would put everything back to factory. Thx
