Default 991.1 GT3 "interim service"

"Interim Service" just popped up on start up. Thinking this is the 2 year plugs, cabin filter, oil, and overall inspection. Service department quoted $1700. Thoughts?

Not completely sure what the question even was. But they’re all very easy DIY tasks (and well documented on here). You’re setting roughly $1100 on fire for 90 min of your time if price was a concern.

Go to an independent. Also, use an OE cabin air filter, made by the same company but without the Porsche logo.

I will search for DIY. Not looking to set any $ on fire. 2 quick questions:
1. Assuming DIY dies not affect warranty?
2. Resetting warning light how to?

If anyone has a link to a good DIY thread, would appreciate it.

DIY does not affect warranty. Save your receipts.

Durametric or similar scan tool can reset warning light.

I have PIWIS 2, and I'd be happy to reset anyone in the DFW area. Pretty sure it can only work with .1 though.

Do a DIY as I do.Save your money and have fun, not to mention knowing your car better. I have done all my own service work since new. Resetting the computer is easy, PM me for the exact model I use . You do need a PIWIS to do transmission fluid changes which is as easy as changing your oil.

Dang wish you were in the Austin area! Just got alerted that I need an oil change in 1000 miles but I already changed it 1000 miles ago.

I take it for us .1 guys a Durametric is all we need?

I used my iCarsoft POR v2.0 to reset the intern service reminder, when I did my 2 year service. Very well worth the price of $145 on Amazon.

I am not sure what you are specifically asking but -- and these are from memory, I may have paid a bit more or less:
  1. I change my plugs every year & I put about 1200 miles per year on my car, all track - $150
  2. I change my coils every two years - DIY $225
  3. Brake fluid every year - $80
  4. Pollen and cabin filter, every 2 years - $50
  5. Oil - every 750 miles - $80
  6. Drive belt - Every 4 years - Too lazy - paid the dealer - $700
  7. Coolant - No flush add as needed - $60 per year
That's about all I do besides the obvious inspections, wheel hub, brakes, tires, rotors, etc. Replace as needed.

Hi @Jickel180

Did you ever get the durametric scan tool? Interested to get your feedback on it.

Anthony
