If you think that's bad you should see the crap in a GT4's filters.

Yep... normal. After 20+ track days my, .1RS had a tires worth of rubber boogers in the air box.

Enjoy your car,

I think that's unnormal.

There should be more rock and debris. That's hardly anything.

I opened up my airbox yesterday after seeing this and reading the RS engine destroyed by dirt. While my car had about 200 street miles on it in the last year, it did have about 20 track days and the box was a clean as the day I replaced the filters in 2019. I don't understand how all this debris enters.

My GT4 air boxes look like the inside of a shopvac if I don’t stay on it.

Yeah, I'm with dixit: how do you get 9000 miles on the car, and only have so few pebbles collecting in the air ducts? I think you need to learn how to drive the RS! A properly driven RS will be loaded with pebbles and tire debris after a few thousand miles!

Yep I changed my filters back in May and was shocked at how much debris was collected, I am about to clean them out again as ive had around 8 track days since.

Anyone have any experience with the K&N air filters listed at Suncoast ? Way cheaper...but do they flow as well or filter as well as the BMC?
