The Definitive GT3 Value Thread.. (with actual data)

I don’t think anyone counted on getting rich, but I think people(including myself) counted on values more sustainable based on the previous generations. So maybe I’ll have to wait longer into the 992 generation the .2 version of that before I buy the next gen. No big deal, but i can see it tough for people to swallow after such great value retention from the previous generations. Though an easy fix would be raising the new price of the 992 up 20k min.
The 992 GT3 may have a harder time converting 991 buyers than ever before. Will that translate into Porsche GT car oversupply unlike before, we will have to see.
Dilution of the brand is real.

Bhalfford,
There are wonderful thread examples here on Rennlist if you search around a little. Search FAL and you will find it's even more contentious than Elephant vs. Donkey.
For what it's worth, if you live in a big city jungle with pot holes, 100 year old infrastructure etc. you'll appreciate having it. Many more GT3's are ordered and born with it so many will say it's a must have for resale. Then you get nut jobs like me with 70,000 miles on their 991 GT3, live in Los Angeles and don't give a rip about resale. I do have the lift and use it at least a dozen times daily. If you live in a nice flat street with newer cities like the plains or Florida then you can do without. Even if I was in the market for a used car and it was the color I wanted and had a few options I liked, I wouldn't take a pass on the car because it didn't have it but I've parked my GT3 outside since new so I'm lower maintenance han most dudes.
Just don't take a pass on a great car if it has everything you want but no front axle lift. You can make due. The replacement front lips snap right on in 2 min with only 2 torx screws.
Good luck!

Sincere thanks. Yes, like any perk on any car if you have it you will use it but if not make do. I learned much the last two days. Mainly that it is easy and inexpensive to have a spare lip on hand at all times in the garage. I have four corvette DE cars and keep spare LS 7 engines, trannies, etc for them so it make sense to get the car I like on at Mark Motors in Boerne, Texas and then just change out the lip from time to time if I damage it. We tested going over speed bumps at our locat HEB and it made it fine. Our driveway is no issue and our garage at Motor Sport Ranch and all the around the grid and paddock is no issue either so I am leaning today to trade in my newly purchased 2014 GT 3 for the 2018 GT 3 that has the race seats and a great interior with full Alcantra and exposed carbon fiber. Low miles at $150,000.00.
THANKS AGAIN!

Three Wheelin'
Back in the day it was possible to drive a Ferrari for a couple of low mileage years for essentially no money. Supplies were short and if you were a good customer you turned the car back to the dealer so it could be sold to someone down the food chain hoping to eventually move up the allocation ladder. This pyramid didn’t last long but it fired the imagination among the entitlement culture that given the right environment (marque, supply, and hype from any and all sectors) it would be possible to drive an expensive sports car for essentially no net cash outlay. There’s a new El Dorado to be found everyday for some people. Most just get behind the wheel and drive.

Guys Thanks for your comments about the front lift kit. I made the decision today to go ahead and purchase the 2018 GT 3 I have been looking at that does not have the FAL. My mechanic says not to worry if the car had everything else. It does and I did make the move.

218 991 GT3s for sale on Autotrader today, most at crackhead prices. And many/most of them have been on there for a long time, as every time I check, the same cars seem to be there. There are a lot of people who still think they can buy a GT car, let half the warranty expire and then sell if for sticker...
