Default Dundon / DSC upgrade

I know both of these have been posted about, a lot, but I could not help myself... After hearing these Dundon systems the past few years at Smokies GT events, I pulled the trigger on a set of Street Headers, black center muffler and titanium tips. Had them installed at Merit Partners along with the newest version of the DSC this week. I had a chance to get up into the mountains today for a few hours and absolutely love both mods. The Dundon system just sounds incredible and no question the car has more midrange grunt - no question. The DSC was a more subtle improvement than on my 997.2 GT3 and Turbo S, but a great addition on uneven surfaces and actually makes this car feel even more centered and grounded than stock - not easy to do in my opinion. There are a few transitions on Suches Gap that my car used to lose traction on and even with cold roads today the car stayed planted. I could not be happier with these!

Congrats - I cannot wait to hear it.
I received the latest DSC a week ago, but have not installed yet. Good to hear your favorable impression.

Hope we cross paths in ATL or the smokies sometime soon.

Did you install the latest DSC file, or just PnP?

TPC said they installed the most recent file before shipping it? I have had three, but honestly never touched them once I installed them. Reading your post leads me to believe I need to study up on the DSC!

Connect a laptop to it, if the file has a lot of blank fields, it's the base file, and not the one you can down load. Base file has like 270 fields, and the downloaded one is like 680 fields.

The difference it made on my 997 cars was significant. Its a more subtle improvement on my current car, but noticeable. I believe I read they had some initial issues with the FAL on the .2 cars that have now been resolved. In my opinion it makes our cars feel more planted, a little smoother, and they seem to do better on rough pavement / seams in highways etc. For hardcore track guys, it does allow them to use the DSC box to program in what they want - way beyond what I am using them for. It takes about 3 minutes to install.

We did race track demos using our newest calibration. These are DSC controllers right out of the box with no changes. Check out this video.

Rides nicer over bumps in Normal Mode. Its takes the "edge" off expansion joints and bumps on less than ideal pavement making the ride more smooth and composed.

Very interesting. This adjusts the software settings on the magnetic dampers? Why didn’t Porsche program the OEM settings this good? Is there still a “soccer mom” (soft for universal users) factor even in GT cars? Thanks.

I can not really tell a heck of a difference on my .2 GT3 between the 2 settings. If this allows a noticeable difference between the two then may be worth it.

I have the Dundon power package as well as the DSC controller. Both awesome upgrades. I can confirm that the DSC controller makes the ride better on the street.
