FAL is a MUST HAVE for me. Even if I didn't need it, I'd spec it just so I didn't restrict my potential buyer pool on resale. Missing FAL is a deal-breaker for many.

I hate scraping- did it on my 997S back in the day and learned to hate it. FAL all the way.

Probably wouldn't need it on a TTS because they ride higher but on a GT3, yessir.

maybe now but maybe not in 3 years when out warranty... less weight less fuss and more direct... lean mean... unless you have a situation where you absolutely need it

No need for it in my neck of the woods. I am in jersey and have not scraped. And I drive it daily.

I prefer to save the 15LBS and future headaches when it stops working. My understanding is that it is like a $3,000 fix when the warranty is up.

When I had my Mclaren, I was more convinced I needed it. Mostly because the car was an inch lower than GT3 and the lift would raise it an inch higher that the FAL.

Exactly this....

Couldn’t own the car without it. It’s the only option that’s non-optional for some.

For me it’s a must have, but it’s where I have to drive. Even with the lift the lip still rubs, which is no big deal. Without the lift the bottom of the bumper would be beached.

Lift also makes loading into a trailer easier.

It’s a preferred option.

It was essential to me due to my sloped driveway. I’ve used it a few times for RR Xing, and some parking lots that have a steep incline.

Even if you can get over a bump (with or without scraping) FAL lets you do so at more than 1mph which is seriously annoying and potentially unsafe as people behind you may not expect you to come to a dead stop.

Probably depends on your use of the car, if a daily you're going to encounter times where you will need it. For me, FAL was a must have, if it wasn't on the option list I moved on, just like buckets, PCCB etc. I don't have a steep driveway (in my opinion), but I scrape without using it. Plus the quickness of it (991.1, don't know if it's the same system in the .2) makes it very easy to use. Was in a 570 not long ago and the amount of time it took to lift was annoying.

It adds weight, complexity, and is totally unnecessary unless you’re going to freak out about scraping the bottom, invisible portion of a $250 plastic trim piece. Big time skip. /End Thread

Anyone know how much weight FAL actually adds on the .1 RS?

Not needed. If you find a car you like, buy it. Don't sweat the FAL
