A bunch of us were at Portimao last week. None of us could get it to work even though its is one of the tracks in the library. Ended up reverting to Harrys. I just don't understand how Porsche cannot get this app to work reliably. Its junk.

 

You can place a magnet on the screen side of the phone behind the camera and that will put the aperture in a fixed position and not allow it to shake as bag. Or I use my old Iphone S that did not have this feature, it's not worth anything is the perfect size, so why not use it for the car!

 

You HAVE to build your own track, none of the preloaded tracks will ever reach the Start/Finish.

 

Laguna Seca did work... Definitely going to try ur tip though, luv / hate relationship with this app.

I got the app to work a few times last weekend at Sebring however after the day was over, trying to go back and look at the video....the video can not be found anywhere. Nothing is really intuitive to use, had to monkey around with various setting before each session to get the app to turn on.

This Porsche APP is total junk! Harry's Lap Timer makes so much more sense and usually works.

I am home looking at the info on my iPhone 11 pro max on the Porsche Track App and can't export any video or watch the video or find the video of my best lap, no idea how to even see video....also says my max speed at Sebring was 245mph....yeah right!

 

I feel your pain - I had a lot of trouble with my iPhone 11 too. If you go into the settings in the app make sure the various video boxes are ticked (as per your preferences).

If in doubt delete app - reboot PCM and start process again. This is one to persevere with.

 

did all that...app still sucks big time. I watched 1 video after a session but now it’s gone.

 

it has been hit and miss for me too, when the pre-loaded track files failed, creating my own track did fix it sometimes.

 

I was at Sebring also , I love the App when it works , but it's extremely frustrating , month ago at Daytona it would pick up every other lap at Start finish line so I had to divide my laps by 2 sometimes it wouldn't start at all , Summary shows MPH but video shows kmh , old version was better

 

I used mine all day at Silverstone yesterday and worked without fail. ios. A very good tip I read on here was to switch off the calls / data etc so nothing disturbed it.

 

I have had good luck with the app thus far for the last two summers. I use and iPhone and have done one track I created and one that was preinstalled. Each worked without issue. When I was at Indianapolis, the configuration of the track we were using was not truly "preloaded" but it adjusted to the change and was fine for the whole weekend. The biggest weakness that I have seen is that any phone calls or texts stop the recording.

I wonder if Porsche see’s this thread and reads what a hunk of junk their Track App is? Wonder if Porsche even cares? Who is in charge of this app at Porsche?
