Back to topic....My thoughts....First off Porsche is not selling cars, they never have.....the dealers are selling cars online....second, one of the single most important things is "how much"?....are negotiations online?....is it like CarMax....the price is the price no negotiating?....It would be nice to see the consumer enter their info, trade, what they're looking for as far as specs, etc.....it goes to a central database, then the dealers respond with their best offer.....now that would be something.....this is just a publicity stunt

This is actually a really interesting concept.

But one that PNA would never go for. It's not going to create and manage an online system that allow dealers to undercut one another nationally in a race to the bottom in terms of profits. As a nickle and dimer, I wish they would do it, but it's not on brand.

I don't think you'll ever see it from any brand....it would kill the small dealers....the big guys would low ball everything to sell units and ship the cars for next to nothing.....

Exactly. Lots and lots of reasons why this would be go no for anyone with a traditional dealer network and legal obligations as a franchisor.

After buying a second GT4 with the explicit Chandler Porsche promise of a 991.2 GT3 and then getting stiffed, I've lost all attraction to the dealers.
The cars are spectacular, it is so sad the dealer experience pales in comparison

Worth it just to get dealers out of the GT car market. Local dealer still clinging desperately to $25k ADM's while their inventory sits collecting dust for going on a year. Knuckleheads.

How would you negotiate trade-in? I guess you could do it over the phone with the dealer. Otherwise you're almost guaranteed here to get nailed or swindled on the price delta on a trade-in!! Which, not surprisingly, raises the PROFITS. Right?
