I don't think the .1 has the updated PCM with apple carplay. I believe that was available on the .2

.1 doesn't have it. Some have made it work with 3rd party tools.

I talked with Porsche about this and here is what they stated. Apple Car Play was intentionally left out due to the risk of drivers being distracted on the track with unnecessary text messages and interruptions around the platform. They stated using the mobile phone to and from the track was sufficient and that total focus while tracking was required to extract the potential from the car. I closed my case and let it be.

Why is ACP in the '19s if diversion was a potential track problem/risk.

I asked this question as well. They replied that the .1RS requires a more skillful driver to extract its maximum potential. He basically stated that because the car was now easier to drive with the new engine and suspension that they felt it safer to install ACP. They also said that since so many are now purchasing the exposed carbon fiber roof and hood that it was a little extra value for the cost of the WP.

Okay...I give up, as I was only having some fun here. Hopefully some of the undertrained sales folks I came across don't steel my lines LOL.

To the OP, the .1RS PCM does not come with ACP. It can be done for around ~1k parts plus labor and there are several threads on how this is done.

Cheers everyone, hope I provided a few smiles today!

You had many of us fooled because that wouldn’t have been the worst nonsense heard from sales guys. Good one though :-)
