GMG Racing - MAKO GT2 RS
In a world of high horsepower track monsters, the 991 GT2 RS is one of the fiercest predators around a circuit! With almost 700hp, it's able to out-lap the majority of supercars on the road today. But, what do you do when that's not enough? You bring it to GMG of course! Our customer felt his GT2 just wasn't crazy enough for him, so he brought it to us to give it our signature track setup along with a couple of extra goodies.
Inside, we installed our GMG WEC Rollbar in Black, GMG Substrap Mounts, Schroth Racing Harnesses, GMG Billet Harness Retainers, and aligned it with our GMG Competition Setup. To give it a little more sound, we installed out GMG WC-GT Exhaust System, and we bumped up the power with a GIAC Tune! Also installed were our GMG Window Air Diffusers, Clear front side markers, and a Rennline front tow hook. Having a car with 700hp is more than enough for most people, but some just want to relive the Widow Maker days. Many question whether or not the 991 GT2 RS is a worthy successor of the Widow Maker nickname, but with this car, there is no question. The sensation of its acceleration is similar to that of a Mako shark going in for an attack! So, if you see this Mako on the track behind you, move aside!

Really? Having owned and tracked a new 1979 Turbo for 8 years and 75,000 Miles, with its propensity to snap
oversteer with leading throttle when boost came on suddenly, or sudden trailing throttle when cornering, and
with as many as half those models having gone into barriers backwards, I can accept that those early 930's,
earned their "widowmaker" status. Eventually, that early 930 taught me how to drive and I learned to tame
and finally employed and hugely enjoyed its massive oversteering tendencies while earning for me my PCA
Instructor Status in 1979.
Trading my '79 930 for a 1987 930 after its reintroduction to the U.S. Market, I tracked that Turbo extensively
in PCA racing. The suspension of that car had obviously been redesigned by Porsche, and its Snap oversteer
had been tamed.
Their is no way that I would accept "Widowmaker Status" for the docile later model 930's, nor would I accept it
for the 1995 993 GT2 Turbo that I raced in PCA for many years, nor any of the later model 911 Turbos,
especially the great handling 991 Turbos which I have been privileged to own and drive, including the
991 GT2RS, which, considering its huge power, I found to be delightfully docile in its track demeanor.
I've never believed that "Widowmaker Status" applies to any late model Porsche, regardless of the
Horsepower it is endowed with. IMHO, The only "Widow-maker" these days is the man holding the
steering wheel whose skill levels and common sense have simply not matched the size of his purse.

I find the exhaust note more than adequate, i would like it turned down actually, u should work on something there for the gt2rs as Laguna Seca noise levels are tough. I cant understand the fascination with making these cars louder, im a racer at heart, since i was 10yrs old, and it doesnt make any sense to me but to each their own. Really nice car~!!! I noticed the harness attachment point, is that new? do you offer that typically? Looks good. Any chance to mount a speedcom unit directly to the cage in a fashionable manner versus zip ties?
